Great stay but hotel needs a little more TLC Great location, gorgeous views and a friendly place to be. Most of it is well presented and the staff are really friendly, accomodating and professional. The bar is open until customers go to bed, too. Which is a real bonus. And although I didn't get to try it, the hot pool with a scenic view looks fabulous (even if it does overlook the car park!). The hallway carpet is in serious need of disposal. It is wearing bald in points and despite being regularly vacuum clened, it is one of the most stained that I have seen in recent times. The design is one of the blander 1980s designs, and it is doing the hotel a diservice. Although the hotel does make sure that the hot buffet breakfast and continental offer is plentiful, it is also somewhat poor value for money at £17 per person. Especially as few of the products appear to be of premium quality. There's a cafe near me that does the a very similar quality breakfast for £5.50.

Great location, Good Price, Clean and Friendly. great location, easy to get to. Easy going relaxed feeling inside, all staff were friendly and helpful. car park in front was often full, feel there should be spaces reserved for overnight guests.

Comfortable, but train your breakfast stuff customer service skills! The look on the outside and the mini village it is in. great lady at check in who was professional and polite. spa experience was great and the afternoon tea was perfect, food and service wise. In general we would definitely stay again. The staff in the bar and restaurant also excellent. comfortable and good atmosphere in the bar and lounge, easy parking. Looking forward to visiting in summer the breakfast staff where rude and miserable it left a sour feeling with us as they were the last people we saw before leaving early (we were first in breakfast). The room was basic a bit disappointing for such a great hotel (but it was clean and warm). Even though it was a lower rate room it was much less of a standard expected… the only thing that spoiled the stay was the lady at breakfast yelling she was not set up in a very very rude way and using very unprofessional wording “ IM NOT FINISHED SETTING UP YET, MATE” in a very aggressive and loud manner expecting us to leave breakfast room even though it was 5-10 mins after opening and another person letting us in !! I didn’t leave and continued to get the food I wanted as I had already explained to another staff member not to worry about the hot food. Even though we did not want hot food we noted when we left, the hot food was not fully out 15-20 mins after the stated opening time… we would consider another hotel on this alone next time, it almost ruined the whole stay, which before the final minute was ok.

This was our 3rd time staying at the hotel.
It's on a lovely complex and the staff are all welcoming and there's a friendly vibe throughout.
The grounds are clean and tastefully old fashioned with nice cobbles to walk across to see the shops and to travel to rooms.
The rooms themselves are dated apart from the bathrooms but are cosy. We upgraded to an executive cottage and a little gutted we did. Main reason was that the bed which on the website is described as a king bed was two singles clamped together and whilst this is no issue the problem was it had two single mattresses bonded together by sheets but each had a thick rim around them which when meeting in the middle dug in your body. Other than that the glass bottle of water, robes and chocs on arrival were a nice touch. The entrance to the building we stayed in was a bit of an eye sore but I'd imagine this would be rectified in the near future.
The spa is great with a pool, a range of rooms in the thermal suite and a fantastic hydro pool which is half outdoor. Gives a great tranquil feeling, we went in around 3pm on a Sunday in January and it was jam packed, I suppose this was due to the hotel being busy and probably a lot of people's new year resolutions that have kicked in, popped back in next morning after 8am and it was quiet and and tranquil.
The beer at the bar and restaurant is great and the food is of high quality. This goes for the breakfast too. We also pre-book dinner and the past 2 times was chuffed with the two course menu but this time it had changed and wasn't as appealing so went for the steak with a £10.95 each supplement which is rather excessive for a 10oz sirloin.
I do recommend going because it is a great place, I think we'll leave it a good few months before going back just to give it time for some stuff to change.

Great would go back The resort is beautiful and inviting. I loved the mini village vibe. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. The spa has a great selection of different saunas and steam rooms as well as an infinity jacuzzi and big pool. The dinner in the courtyard restaurant was great, the food was really tasty and the service was lovely. The bar area had a great atmosphere as well. Only things that are not the fault of the hotel - the executive bed was 2 singles zip and locked together which as a couple we don't like because you have to lie in the dip to be close which isn't comfortable. We didn't sleep very well as there were people shouting in the corridors until about 1 or 2 in the morning. The spa was quite crowded so could have done with more loungers to chill out on. (my mom didn't like that there were no biscuits in the room with the tea and coffee)

We stayed in room 49, a cottage room.
The room on the whole was very clean and well maintained, had a large TV and ample hot drink making facilities (could’ve done with some more tea bags). Staff were lovely at check in and throughout our stay. However bar staff seemed like it was an inconvenience to them to order any food/drinks.
Spa facilities were excellent, unfortunately there wasn’t any availability for any treatments when we stayed but nonetheless the pool and thermal suite were very good. The lady on the spa reception was very friendly and helpful too.
We’d stay again if we’re ever in the area, not too far a drive from Manchester.
