A very enjoyable stay
Breakfast was lovely and most of all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The bar prices were extremely high, for example, I was charged £14.10 for 2 gin (Gordon's) and tonics. I questioned the price at reception on checking out and was told that it was the correct price.

Did a first aid course here. The conference facilities were ok. The room carpet needed a good hoovering and the coffee machine in reception was out of order. The service at lunch was very good with friendly staff to help with anything.

Clean room, crisp sheets, nice chair and footstool, good shower, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities provided. Staff pleasant and amenable. Check in quick and efficient.
All good room wise but the breakfast was poor. Watered down orange juice which tasted stale like it had been sitting around for days, so tried the apple juice. Exactly the same. To the extent it was undrinkable. Plates in the self service buffet still dirty with dried on food. Tried three plates - ditto. Housekeeping knocked on my door when I was having a shower at 9am, then apologised, using my name correctly saying she'd been told I'd checked out. Not sure how that was so as I hadn't checked out, my car was still on site, I hadn't returned the key and hadn't paid my bill and check-out time was 'by 11.30 am.' At check out I was asked in person how I rated my stay. I said 7 out of ten and then was asked how they could make it ten. I told them points I've now written here. The staff member said she hoped my day got better. I said 7 out of 10 was pretty good, but now on reflection I don't think its okay putting customers in this position of being asked to review a stay verbally at check out. Maybe people don't want to offer criticism verbally when leaving and might, when challenged in this way, not say what they really think. The staff member at the time said they were aiming to get ten out of ten from every customer, but asking in this way is not putting customers first I reckon, it's putting them on the spot.

Classic Holiday Inn quality and comfort
I love Holiday Inn and the non breakfast price on booking dot com was very fair so it was a lovely hotel to make my stay perfect in Bolton … I will always try and book IHG hotels if given the chance
