No problems with actual stay at property until this morning when fire alarm was sounded about 5.25 am. Actions following this could certainly do with tightening up. After a few minutes the fire alarm was silenced so we didn’t know if there was a fire or not! On checking told yes, not serious but smoke and needed to evacuate. Everyone gathered outside in designated area. Staff member came out approximately 5-10 minutes later (after fire brigade arrived) and proceeded to take a sort of register. No general instructions given and no attempt at organisation, she just went around the car park, easily missing people for the register. A little while later we were allowed back into the lounge to await further instructions and hot drinks were quickly made available. A short time after an update from the fire brigade we were advised breakfast was ready if we would like it. About 7.15 am we were told that apart from a couple of exceptions we were all allowed back into our rooms. When we checked out there was no mention of the incident or apology for the inconvenience! Whilst I appreciate the main thing was that no one was injured, from my perspective there was a lot that could be tightened up in fire procedures. Having managed residential care units where we have had occasion to have the fire brigade for genuine fire alarm call outs, I can honestly say my staff were much better trained and prepared.

Reception staff friendly. Rooms are large and very clean (really clean carpets too which is rare in hotels) Very good bathroom. Comfortable bed, with good bedding. Overall probably best hotel I've been to for the price range.

Das Frühstücksbuffet ist lecker, man kann vom Englischen Frühstück bis hin zum Croissant alles haben.
Das Personal ist durchwegs sehr freundlich, besonders an der Rezeption wird man immer sehr freundlich begrüßt.
Lage ist super, direkt neben einem Einkaufszentrum, der Bahnhof und Busbahnhof sind zu Fuß in knapp 15 Minuten erreichbar.

Excellent hotel, will definitely stay there again
After my previous experience at another hotel in Bolton I wasn't expecting at lot but I thought this hotel was really good: staff very friendly and helpful, very good breakfast even though self service, good ingredients and well cooked, there is a gym with reasonable level of equipment, bedrooms spacious and well equipped. I was travelling with my wife who has early onset dementia and the bed was too small, so they offered to put an extra bed in or move us to a room with 2 single beds no problem. Even though the bathroom is tiny the shower was large which meant I could help my wife shower.
These are really minor points but: 1. The reception staff were for the most part very friendly and helful with exception of 1 lady who didn't serve me but I could hear being rather abrupt with other guests 2. The bathrooms really are small if well equipped. I trapped a finger against the washbasin closing the door! 3. No exercise mats in the gym which was odd

The room was clean and spacious, bed was comfy with TV, tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom was spotless with a great shower, one of the best I've used. Lastly a great location for the town centre of Bolton.
Paying for a car park on top of my stay and blind was faulty.

Hotel was perfect location for our needs, staff helpful and welcoming, facilities excellent. The only disappointment was our room smelt of smoke when we arrived and was still there in evening. Parking perfect and secure. Would stay again

Attended a dinner dance in the Ashton Suite. Was a very enjoyable evening.The food and service was to a high standard and the function room was excellent.

Nice basic hotel.
It’s a bit weird that no check-in is allowed before 3pm and then at 3pm there is a huge queue of people waiting to checkin. In most other places if rooms are available it’s possible to checkin before the official checkin time to avoid the queues.
