This was booked at the last minute for a business trip.. It wasn't what I was expecting. I did not think a Holiday Inn would be good, but I was pleasantly surprised! The room was a family room with a large king bed and an L shaped sofa. The room was clean, as was the bathroom and the hotel in general. One thing that was disappointing is that they couldn't provide a full service for certain things at night, such as making up the sofa bed? I wasn't so happy about that.
The highlight of the entire stay was the Dipak, the Maitre de of the restaurant area. He is literally one of the nicest, most hospitable individuals I have ever come across in the service industry. I've stayed in hotels that assign you personal butlers during your stay, and seriously, he would rival them with his hospitality. He went literally above and beyond. I watched him as I thought perhaps he was only being like that with us. But my God, no! He treats everyone with the same courtesy. I was genuinely taken aback by how hospitable he was. He really deserves a raise. We tried to find him to tip him, but when we asked at the reception, he had gone somewhere. Holiday Inn, you're lucky to have him.

Was more expensive than expected, the bathroom is quite small, one person at a time. The shower lacks the pressure you would expect. Rooms are reasonably well appointed, however chair was stained, heating difficult to control and noisey outside if you open the window.
Staff were nice but:
1. Long wait to check in
2. Got to the room on 4th floor and the key didn't work
3. Once I got into the room I was getting ready to go out and a random guy walked in. Seems he was given the same room.

I had a relaxing stay at the Holiday Inn Bolton over the weekend. The staff were all smiling and very approachable. The room was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable for a weekend stay. I didn't think much of the coffee bags in the room but that's my personal preference. The heat from the radiator was great and heated the room in no time at all. It made the late evening nice and cosy. Overall, an enjoyable stay and I wouldn't hesitate to return if I need to stay in Bolton in the future.

Hotel has benefitted from a much needed upgrade and the rooms are now really nice and modern, beds are exceptionally comfortable and ALL the staff are so friendly and welcoming, a real credit to the management team. Location is 5 minutes walk into the town centre and there is free on site parking. WiFi in my 4th floor room was slow so I ended up tethering to my phone instead. Breakfast was very nice with a great selection of items, but could be further improved with more frequent refreshes of hot food rather than cooking in bulk. Overall, really pleased with our visit and would definitely stay here again.

Nice well maintained hotel on the edge of the town about 15 minutes from the station. Rooms were well decorated. Food was good. Breakfast was good although coffee machine was not working, so only had filter coffee from a jug as substitute. Drinks at the bar were quite expensive. Leisure club available but no pool. Didn't take a car but onsite parking available.

Nicely located, arrived after check in hours and was dealt with quickly without any issues.
Easy to navigate to rooms.
One thing to note. The car park isn't great for parking. If you're not a confident driver, avoid the car park and find somewhere else.
However, that being said, it's sheltered and seems like a safe place to park.

We needed a hotel last minute due to car problems. Annie could not have been more helpful and considerate of our predicament. Excellent customer service and hospitality. In addition the rooms were perfect and the breakfast of a high standard.

Good central location. Free parking. Good rooms and friendly service. On the minus side even though it has had a refurbishment in places it's still a bit old in most. The rooms are a bit small, especially the bathrooms. There are fake curtains in the ros and a blackout blind that means you can't have the window open at night and darkness, you have to decide which one you want. It was very quiet when I visited on a Thursday night, dinner and breakfast were a bit lonely!

Stayed here on a Friday night and it was in a good location, central to the town. Staff were friendly, the room was clean although the heating seemed uncontrollable so it’s fair to say the duvet wasn’t needed.
Would definitely stay again for business or leisure.

I wasn't using Holiday Inn as a place to stay but was joining friends in a Christmas 'gathering' run by Holiday Inn. It didn't hit the mark. The DJ competed with the England match and the room and the food was cold. Such a shame. Place was beautifully decorated. The staff worked hard and were pleasant and helpful.

The staff are really welcoming and helpful the rooms are really clean and their breakfast in the morning is out of this world I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends in my opinion it’s the best hotel in Bolton

Staff could be a bit more considerate. Setting up a meal string a conference can't be easy, but they could really do with investing in a doorstop. The constant slamming of the door was very distracting during presentations. Not expected for such a lovely venue.
