Furness celebrities will be singing their hearts out for a good cause next month, and thebestof barrowandfurness is pleased to be sponsoring the event!

This year’s Voices for Hospices charity talent contest is on October 27, and will raise money for Ulverston's St Mary’s Hospice, which provides support to people with terminal illnesses and their families.

The event, at The Lisdoonie Hotel, Barrow-in-Furness, will see entertainers from south Cumbria paired up with well-known local people in a singing competition.

Those taking part include Rochelle Berry, from Bay Radio, Rev Allan Mitchell, from Dalton, and former Barrow AFC player Neil Doherty.

There will be a judging panel, but the audience vote will crown the winners.

Tickets are £10, including a light buffet supper and are available now, from St Mary’s Hospice or the St Mary’s Hospice shops in Ulverston, Barrow and Dalton.
