I love this restaurant, it’s really a favorite for me ! Last week, during a business trip, I had the chance to dine at this establishment and it was a memorable culinary experience. The dishes were not only delicious but also artistically presented, a true feast for the senses. The staff were welcoming and attentive, contributing to a warm and friendly atmosphere. Went for a nice walk around Ulverston and stumbled upon this spot. Absolutely could not fault this place one bit. Served some of the nicest food i’ve had for a long time.

Lunchtime visit was a very pleasurable experience. Crispy squid small plate and a ham hock terrine with rosemary salted fries, homemade chutney, soft poached eggs and a tossed salad were highlights. The flatbreads were also reportedly excellent.

We booked Base for our wedding celebration and I'm so glad we did. There were 40 of us eating and we selected a 4 course meal which was absolutely divine. The food was served promptly and tasted delicious. You could tell a lot of time and effort went into the meal and the event as a whole. The meal surpassed our expectations and all our guests commented on how nice the food was over the following week.
We are looking forward to planning a return visit with just my husband and I!

A celebratory lunch out following the birth of our second daughter. Base offers a welcoming and comfortable setting for lunch. The food was incredible, we had king prawns & squid to start, Both excellent dishes. For mains we had mussels and steak, again both excellent and cooked beautifully. They also have a lovely range of drinks and nice coffee. We are already excited to head back for another meal.

Excellent spot for breakfast. Ambience is calm, smart, professional. Service with a genuine smile. The food is comforting and laid out with aplomb. Only been at breakfast but it looks a quality Ulverston establishment.

Lovely puncha light and airy restaurant, very prac full and calm. And the chilli garlic prawns are wonderfull! I also had a side of salt and chilli chipsfor a spice lover like me wonderful!

Highly recommended!. We visited the surrounding area in October whilst on a weeks break and came across this hidden gem on a walk around Hoad Hill and we popped in for breakfast. We returned on Saturday night for the taster menu which was superb-delicious, locally sourced food in a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. We will certainly be back. What a great find. Thanks for a lovely night - we thoroughly enjoyed.

Back to Base for another fabulous evening with the last day of the Christmas menu. As usual, everything was first rate, we have eaten very well locally and Base compares with the best. Mark's imagination and skills in the kitchen are only matched by the care he takes over every guest - my wife has all manner of food allergies which are always wonderfully catered for.

Fabulous! Is the only way to describe both the food and the staff. Went for my husbands Birthday and what a treat it was. Absolutely faultless. So nice to get that personal touch from the chef. First time will not be our last. Will be recommending to everyone!
