Smart Energy GB has set up a new five-year fund to support community-based organisations that provide information about how to get and use smart meters, especially for those who may face barriers to getting a smart meter.

Not-for-profit organisations, including charities, clubs, social enterprises, residents associations and parish councils, can apply for grants to:

  • raise awareness of smart meters and help people understand the benefits
  • increase interest in getting a smart meter installed
  • motivate people to use their smart meter
  • educate people on how to get the most benefit from using their smart meter

Small grants (up to £10,000) and large grants (£10,000–£25,000) are available.  Applications need to be in by 30th September and projects or activities need to be completed by 31st December 2016.
