Can You Help St Anne's Chapel Open More Often?

Do you have a couple of hours to spare? We are looking for people with an interest in heritage and the arts to join our team of volunteers. We would love to open up St Anne's more often and we can only do this with your help.

Says Dion Sears “People are discovering St Anne’s in Barnstaple, we have lots of different events programmed and they are proving popular. However we want to be open more often, it’s such a shame to have to tell visitors that we are not open every day. It’s a beautiful building with a fascinating history and it would be great for every visitor to Barnstaple to be able to see it”.

We are looking for both future heritage guides and event stewards (stewards sometimes get to see a show for free!). Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, make new friends and feel part of a team.

The St Anne’s volunteers are a diverse group who meet once a month to organise future activities and plan open days. Volunteering at St Anne’s could help you to gain some experience for your CV, particularly if you wanted to go onto work for a historic building or in the events field. It could be your chance to develop new skills or build on your existing knowledge of the area.

We welcome everyone, all ages and interests, for however much time you can offer – anything from an hour a month to two hours a day. So why not do something extraordinary and help us to open up this building to everyone.

If you would like to know more please join us on Saturday 4 May for a cup of tea and a chat. The whole team will be there from 10.30am – 2pm.
