As the school summer holidays stretch out ahead it’s always a worry about what to do to keep everyone happy and stimulated without breaking the bank by September. Here are a few suggestions of places to go with free entry in the Abingdon area:

Abbey Meadows – although you have to pay a small amount for use of the outdoor pool if you’re not a SOLLutions member (£4 for adults, under 16’s free), the park and water feature (suitable for smaller children) are completely free.

Abingdon Museum – entry is free and there is a constantly changing set of specific exhibitions and events aimed at children.

Abingdon Library – storytimes for small children and competitions etc. for older children.

Millets Farm – entry is free to the farm zoo and play area. They also have a “beach” area for smaller children to dig in sand etc. which is free. Entry to the falconry centre or maize maze incur a charge.

Please contact the above for up to date details and also let us know of any other suggestions and we'll add them in!

I love Abingdon and am passionate about promoting the businesses and events that are centred there. I want everyone to realise how great they are and how we should all be using them!
