It’s that time of year again – Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. February 14th is traditionally a day when many of us lavish extra time and attention on our loved ones, but let’s not forget the small business owners that are the unsung heroes of Abingdon and they need some loving!

These business owners have kept the local economy going, through challenging times and it’s now time for the people of Abingdon to give a little bit back…so how can you do that?? It’s easy – join us in the ’14 Days of Love’ campaign. This campaign encourages people from all over the country to ‘share some love’ about their great local businesses.

This is a fun campaign with a serious message, and it’s designed to make thousands of business owners across the country feel great about the work they do every day because their customers will be showing them their ‘love’.

This year, all reviews posted since 1 March 2011 up until 14 February 2012 will be added to thebestof.co.uk Love-O-Meter which will ultimately decide who the ‘Most Loved’ businesses are, both locally and nationally. By posting a review, people can therefore get involved by influencing the Love-O-Meter score for a business featured on thebestof that has offered them great service and advice, friendly staff and / or value for money for example.

If you do share your love during the ’14 Days of Love’ campaign you’ll automatically be entered in our FREE daily prize draws and there are some brilliant prizes to be won including an Orient Express Experience, Dinner at a Michelin Star restaurant, Ferrari driving experience, a Kindle, Magnum of Champagne, theatre tickets and a lot more! Have a look at the daily list here.

All you have to do to enter the prize draw is tell us which local business you love, and why here.

Help us spread the word, get tweeting about the 14 Days of Love and encourage as many people as you can to take part! You can find out what everyone is saying about the campaign on Twitter (and join in) by using the hashtag #14daysoflove too. Have a look at our facebook page too.

For more information on how you can get involved and how to vote, just register as a local member on the Abingdon website and you will get regular email newsletters as well in the coming weeks.

Good luck and lots of love!
