Abbey Meadow open air pool in Abingdon opened for the summer season on Saturday with a free swim weekend. It will close on Sunday 4th September.

It was closed in 2005 after council budget cuts, but a public campaign, backed by Abingdon Town Council and the Herald newspaper, helped it reopen the following year.

 

Abbey Meadows pool is situated on the bank of the river Thames in Abingdon, a beautiful area eccessible by boat, with moorings adjacent. The area also offers riverside walks, tennis, mini golf and a childrens' playground.

Main Pool Depths:

  • Shallow end 0.7m
  • Deep end 2.2m

Learner Pool Depths:

  • Shallow end 0.61m
  • Deep end 0.76m

Admission Policies
Under 8's Admissions
  • Children under the age of 8 must be directly supervised throughout their use of the facilities by a parent or adult (18 or over).
In The Swimming Pool
  • A maxium of 3 children under the age of 8, can be supervised by 1 parent or adult (18 or over).
