RARE guitars, a cache of highly collectable records discovered in a derelict house and a hi-fi worth up to £5,000 are among the rock ‘n’ roll treasures coming up for auction in Lichfield next month.
Hednesford Park has scooped a gold Britain in Bloom Award for the third year running at the Britain in Bloom regional awards ceremony that took place in Birmingham on 8 September.
The treasure trove of more than 500 editions from the likes of Marvel, DC and Action Comics was marketed by Lichfield-based Richard Winterton Auctioneers in a timed, online-only auction which finished at 10pm on Thursday, August 8.

AN INCREDIBLE collection of photographs built up over a lifetime documenting the pubs of Lichfield is coming up for auction.
The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts showcased some of their recent work at two Lichfield Festivals this July.

ICONIC Marvel comics have sold for a fittingly fantastic price at auction. The collection of original 1960s Stan Lee Fantastic Four editions were built up from Volume 1 Issue #1 November 1961 by Birmingham man Brian Bowler – who even wrote to Marvel in the USA to get rare comics when the flight carrying several editions crashed into the sea on its way to the UK.
