Ballet is a wonderful showcase of speed, balance and grace that can evoke deep and meaningful experiences but what are your first thoughts when I mention ‘The Ballet’? Is it one of curiosity as you consider the prospect of attending your first performance? Or is one of familiarity, as your mind goes back to when you witnessed your first ballet performance?
Theatre is a somewhat under-rated format in the modern world of cinema and television, but that hasn’t stopped it from carving out its own place in the market of entertainment. There is still the magic of theatre present and you can experience it for yourself very soon.
It wasn’t long ago that I was writing about the launch of The Lowry’s new exhibition series ‘Performer as Curator’ that seeks to give a rare insight into the possible inspirations and workings of your favourite performers! The first performer to present their work to The Lowry was Alison Goldfrapp and she has been a revelation.
A virginal, which was held at Warrington Museum & Art Gallery, has been restored for a recital of music composed by students from Lymm High School.
The month of November, or should that be Movember, is almost here.
