Southend Rugby Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in England and gives the residents of Southend the opportunity to not only play rugby, and watch rugby, but also to host their own venues in the modern club house.
As Murray mania grows once again, and the ladies continue to 'out grunt' the men, we are once again digging out our old tennis racquets hoping to emulate their prowess on the court during Wimbledon.
Are you ready? There’s less than a week until we finally get to see the Olympic torch, alight and in all its glory being proudly carried through our town by some of the most inspirational members of our community.
As London 2012 draws nearer, our town welcomes the Olympic Torch Relay on Friday 6th July. Make sure you join in this one-in-a-lifetime experience, but if you're otherwise engaged, be aware of the road closures and make alternative travel arrangements.
Summer, such as it has been so far, is apparently upon us. You might even be looking forward to some guaranteed Mediterranean sunshine! Unless, like me, you realise this may involve revealing more flesh than has seen the light of day for 12 months...
Why? Because that's when the Olympic Torch Relay is coming to town, it's unlikely to happen again in our lifetime so make sure you keep it free, and maybe even plan your own celebrations to make this auspicious occasion.
