Is #Southend ready to commit to get fit?

I am pretty sure I'm not the only one counting down the weeks until my hard earned week in the sun, and frantically trying every kind of fad diet out there to shed the excess pounds that have mysteriously accumulated beneath layers of winter clothes – I swear wool makes my body swell!

Dieting is one thing but the fact is, if it's not backed up by regular exercise you are going to find yourself fighting a losing battle. Even if you do manage to get the weight off, you are unlikely to see a lean, streamlined body in the full length mirror.

But really, how much appeal does a trip to the gym have, is jogging really that much fun? And does the fitness DVD make working out in your front room any less embarrassing as the neighbours peer in?

The best and most sustainable type of exercise is something that is fun, effective and maybe a little bit different.

SAS Pole Fitness offers classes in Southend on Sea. Offering basic to higher intermediate instruction, pole fitness classes focus on flexibility, strength and core. It doesn't matter what age or size you are - there are classes for both polers and non-polers, where you can burn calories, tone your body and increase flexibility and confidence.  Most of all it's fun! Having shed its initial slightly 'sleazy' image to be accepted as a legitimate exercise regime, hundreds of people are happily revealing toned arms, shoulders, backs, thighs and abs they didn't even know they had!

SAS Pole Fitness has a variety of classes to suit everyone, from learning the basic moves through to more advanced tricks and toning exercises.  You may go along initially for a laugh or out of curiousity, but be aware, it doesn't take long to get hooked!

Still don't think it's for you? Well how about trying an exhilarating, Latin inspired dance fitness party?

Zumba, originally a Colombian dance fitness programme created by dancer and choreographer Alberto 'Beto' Perez in the 1990's, has since quite literally taken the world by storm.

Having the essential elements guaranteed to qualify it as a 'fitness craze' Zumba is most definitely here to stay.  A mix of dance styles – mambo, cumbia, merengue, cha-cha and, sometimes, belly dancing and hip hop – choreographed into routines that are fun and manageable whilst working and toning virtually every muscle in your body and burning no small number of calories. Zumba is most definitely a 'girls’ night out' although boys are extremely welcome to join in the fun!

Why not give it a go? ZumbaWithDee runs regular classes at Rawlight Studios in Southend where you can get together with friends for fun and fitness sessions.  Dee Hayes is a licensed fitness instructor and with years of experience behind her, she really knows how to make exercise not just enjoyable, but sustainable. You can even suggest your own music choice, and if selected you'll have your own personal routine in the classes, and will be given a FREE CLASS for your winning suggestion.

"For the first time in years people are coming to classes and really looking forward to exercising, I guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face... Zumba® is just so addictive!" Dee Hayes

"I LOVE ZumbaWithDee...it’s great fun with no egos! Would highly recommend this class, its suitable for all ages and fitness levels" Lauren
