I went along to the Warwick Cycle Races that happen annually for the first time today. Most of the town centre was closed to traffic with a racing lap formed- looping from Market Square round through Brook Street down the High Street/Jury Street, up Church Street and back round via the Old Square.
I was impressed to see the guy that did the commentary in the Olympics there announcing the winners and doing a bit of commentary for the crowd.
Here are a couple of photographs that I took & you can view some more at this link - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2031223&id=1532423086&l=8129975515
You don't have to have a facebook account to view these. But if you have got one, you can add thebestof Warwick on facebook HERE. There's also a video clip if you want to see a clip of the action- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6okW1vwnPBA
Unforunately the video was taken halfway round the course so you can't hear the cheering that was going on nearer to the centre. Moments after that clip there was a crash with about 2 cyclists colliding and then another crashing over the top!
I'm Ross,
I run thebestof Warwick. I really enjoy the chance to shout about the many fantastic local businesses & things we have going on in the area. If you have any local opinions, news or events...
