16th March 2011

The Royal family has hardly been out of the headlines over the past weeks but just when you thought it was over, the Leamington Royals emerge from their 7 month slumber.

The 2010 Co-operative Midlands Champions are pleased to announce that they are back in pre-season training in preparation for the summer season. The Royals will be running 2 senior teams in 2011 and face a stern test in the re-vamped Midlands Conference. League Fixtures are waiting to be publicised when England Rugby League Head Coach Steve McNamara will join players, coaches and club officials from the Midlands clubs on Monday 21st March 2011 to launch the season's playing structure. The new structure will be an exciting time for the club and Rugby League community in general, as it brings in new ways of working together and developing rugby league in the midlands further.

Leamington Royals had a very successful season last year finding themselves in the League Champions, reaching quarter-finals of the national cup and being crowned Warwick District ‘Team of the Year’.  We are hoping to build on previous successes in 2011 and we urge the Warwickshie community to get involved. We hope to see an increase in the Royals supporters this year, we will welcome any rugby lovers down the the Crofts when our Season kicks off on 8th May 2011.

The club would like to encourage any players interested in joining the Royals and playing Rugby League please to get in touch. New players are always welcome, as all levels of experience and ability are catered for. Email us on lrrl@hotmail.co.uk or come to our Training sessions on a Wednesday night at Old Leamingtonians, 7.00pm.
