This summer, locals and visitors to the Heart of England are being urged to get out there with a camera in hand to take part in a photography competition called "shots from the heart".  Share your passion for our region.

All ages of amateur photographers are being encouraged to get involved.  The winner will get a great prize of a great family day out in the region.  All you have to do is upload your best photographs to the website at www.visittheheart.co.uk/photo

It doesn't matter whether you have a pro digital SLR, a camera phone or disposable camera! Its all about capturing what is great about our area.  You can also get involved by voting for your favourite pictures in the online gallery on the website.

The Heart of England photography comp is being run by Advantage West Midlands.  Angela Maxwell who is a board member of Advantage West Midlands said:

"’Shots from the Heart’ is a great way for people living and visiting the Heart of England to share what makes this area so fantastic.

“With digital cameras and camera phones it’s so easy to snap that perfect
shot, so make sure your favourite part of the Heart of England is fully represented and shout out about what’s great about it by sending in your photo.”

Shots from the Heart photo comp is running from now until 14th September 2009 so there's still time to get involved. The prize includes a choice of day trips to the best attractions in the area including Warwick Castle, Sealife Centre Birmingham, Alton Towers, Black Country Living Museum, Iron Gorge Museum and Severn Valley Railway.
