The council recycling collections across Warwick area and Warwickshire have obviously been an excellent way to ensure more waste is being recycled. However, there is often confusion as to what can and can't be recycled, especially with the added introduction of white or red recyling bags across some parts of Warwick and Leamington. So here's a list of what can and can't be recyled by the Warwick District Council recycling pick ups:
What can go in the red recycle boxes?
Paper, cardboard, glass, tins (including metal biscuit or cake tins), plastic bottles, batteries (put batteries in clear plastic bag inside or on top of red recycle box or recycling bag). Aerosol cans (like polish, air fresheners, deodorants)
Ideally items should be grouped together in types to make it easier for the recyling collection team.
What can go in the red or white recycle bags?
Some areas in Warwick have red or white bags in addition to the red recycling collection boxes. If you have a red or white recycling bag use the red box as above but put the following items into the bag instead- plastic bottles, cardboard and card.
Want to recycle clothes or shoes?
Put them in any plastic bag and these will also be collected on recycle collection day. Even damaged shoes and clothes can be recycled.
Want to recyle beverage carton such as orange juice?
These can't go in the red recyle boxes for collection yet but can be recyled at Princess Drive Recyling Centre in Leamington Spa or at Cherry Orchard Recyling Centre in Kenilworth.
How to get a recycling box or bag if you've not already got one
