First Ever Female President Elected For Warwick Lions Club

Warwick's Hill Close Gardens played host to a milestone event for Warwick Lions Club last week, overlooking Warwick Racecourse. Lion Pauline Fanti was elected Warwick Lions Club's first ever female President. The first in Warwick Lions Club's 47 year history.

Warwick Lions carry out some fantastic events in Warwick throughout the year and all for charitable causes. The Warwick Lions Club events are among some of the biggest on the Warwick calendar and include Warwick Carnival, Christmas Carols at Warwick Castle and Warwick Town Firework Display.

At the meeting at Hill Close Gardens, President of Warwick Rotary Club Thelma Atkins was welcomed to the Warwick Lions Club meeting as the two clubs aim to increase their links and work together more in the future.

The meeting also honoured several members of Warwick Lions Club- Lion Peter Knights was presented with the Frank Denby Award for Exceptional Achievement, outgoing Lions President Geoff Wiskin was presented Long Service Chevron for 10 years, Paul Brown was presented Long Service Chevron for 10 years, David Wright was presented Long Service Chevron for 20 years, Charles King-Smith was presented Long Service Chevron for 35 years.
