From the outside you'd be forgiven for dismissing the Vine and walking past..... But step through the door and a delight awaits.
Lots of small welcoming friendly rooms and a bar greet you, delve further in and the place becomes a hive of activity and right at the back an indoor barbecue areas offers freshly cooked meats.
The dining area resembles a school canteen but if you can live with the plain tables and stone floors the food more than makes up for it.
Great authentic food served with no fuss and drama. Hot and satisfying and is good Indian cuisine at its best.
A vast selection of curries to tempt and delight the taste buds..... What are you waiting for? Get yourself down there!!!

Visited this lovely place for a meal with work colleagues. Starters were excellent with the best samosas I have ever had. Very full of meat and tasty. Good sized portions and great lamb curry. My colleagues all has lovely curries including the goat curry. Would recommend!

Went with a party of people. I think on the whole they were all reasonably happy. The Vine is supposed to sell real ale too, but on this evening there was only one on and it was an unimpressive mild.
The food menu is quite varied and interesting. The quantities are good too. Service is excellent. The salds that come with the starters is fairly huge but tired and uninspiring.
The biggest problem for me was my visit to the toilets before I left. The state of thm made me wonder whether the kitchens were looked after any better. The toilet pan lacked a seat,a nd thw hole place lacked cleanliness. I found this very offputting and will not return.

I like the Vine. I've been here a few times and I've enjoyed the food. The place itself is pretty cool, fairly chilled out and a nice place to come if you're out with friends or partner.
The only problem I really have is that you order curry from the pub (one side) and BBQ i.e. Shish, Chicken Kebabs etc. from the next room which means your meals are never usually ready @ the same time. I'm sure there's ways you can logistically time it so everything's ready together....but I don't think you should have to as a customer, really, and they don't usually tell you if the BBQ food is ready, you just kind of have to go up and ask, half way through eating your curry. I'm sure I'm not the only one who get's annoyed by this.
But, overall I enjoy the food, the BBQ is delicious and cooked right there in front of you. The BBQ kitchen is very impressive and the chefs are always pleasant. it's also a very well-maintained, clean establishment. I will defo go back & maybe next time I can work out a plan on how to order from both places for them to be ready @ the same time :)

My sister arranged a family meal for 11 of us to celebrate my nephew's birthday. When we arrived I wondered whether we had the right place given the location and exterior appearance of The Vine but once we got inside we were pleasantly surprised, really well decorated and almost cavernous in proportion with a grill area right at the back which is where we were seated. A waitress helped us to pull some tables together and we went on to order a variety of dishes from the main menu and grill. I had curry goat which was nice but was a little too bony for me (it does state on the bone so my fault really) and my fiancé and most of my family had tikka from the grill with naan bread whilst the kids had cheesy naans and nuggets etc. I have to say that the atmosphere was cracking and the service great although we did get a bit confused with the waitresses calling out numbers rather than names but it all worked out in the end. All in all it was a lovely meal at very reasonable prices £35 for 3 meals. We will be back :)

It may be a converted pub, with a small frontage but a big behind, that specialises in Indian food but do not let this stop you going. If you enjoy Indian food then give it a go and I do not think you will be disappointed. It is a 'well kept secret' by many in the area and by those who travel 40 +miles to eat there.

Probably the best pub/restaurant for any away football fans in the Country. The quality of the food is second to none and the price is very good. Despite its deceptive entrance of a small back street pub its like the TARDIS inside but even so when we arrived at 12.30 for a 3pm KO the place was packed and finding a table was imposable but for the grill menu you can eat standing up so no problem. For real ale drinkers get them in early they always sell out.

Amazing Indian in West Bromwich. They have an open barbeque where they cook kebabs and such like. They also had a huge list of curries and are very reasonably priced. I had a tikka kebab at £3.75 and a chicken claypot with massala fries

I have just come back from a two week business trip to Birmingham and with this being the nearest restaurant to our hotel we ate hear a few times. The first thing to note about The Vine is that the place is like the tardis, from the outside it looks like a small pub but once you're inside it is huge! I came here with colleagues and with so much choice on the menu there was no need to have the same thing twice.
The first time we went I had the Chilli Chicken Stir-fry from the Fusion menu as with it saying it was a stir-fry I figured it was probably a nice healthy dish. However when it arrived the chicken was coated in breadcrumbs and I would say the dish was more like a spicy sweet and sour rather than a stir-fry. That being said it was delicious and I would definitely have it again. On our second visit I ordered the Chicken Dhansak with boiled rice, I honestly could not fault it, the chicken was moist and the sauce was full of flavour. For our third trip I thought I would try something from the grill (there is an indoor barbecue area right at the back of the restaurant). I ordered the Piri Piri Chicken which the menu said was pieces of chicken and pepper in a Piri Piri sauce. I went back to collect my meal (as the grill is not waiter service) only to find that the chicken was not in pieces is was a chicken leg and there was no pepper with it. Once back at the table I realised that the chicken leg also had the skin on so pretty much all the marinade and flavour was lost when I removed the skin. Ordinarily I don't eat meat on the bone, especially with the skin on but I decided to give it a try. The chicken itself was cooked well, it was just a shame that most of the flavour had been lost with the skin and that it wasn't as described on the menu as I was really looking forward to it and had I known I would have ordered something else.
That being said if I am ever down that way on business again I will definitely go back. The staff were very attentive, the place was very clean and it was always busy, no matter which night we went. The best bit about this restaurant is it is excellent value for money! I have never found anywhere else where you could get a curry, rice and a glass of wine for around £10! Fantastic!!

Love it here we always have the BBQ I've heard there will be a carpark soon which will be better, staff friendly & if you catch the man that cooks the BBQ on a good day he might even smile but don't expect one off the owner! the food & atmosphere is always good!

My husband had mention The Vine quite a lot as he had been here several times with from work with work colleagues. We came here from our trip to Birmingham Bull Ring Shopping as we had ridden on the Metro and stopped off and restaurant was near to one of the stops.
We had ordered chicken tikka, methi chicken tikka, sheesh kebabs and their fish. Waited 10-15 for order to arrive, drinks ordered separately. When order came they had forgotten the fish the young chap was telling the older chap off maybe because he had forgotten to put the fish on?? So had to wait for another 10 minutes. My son started to eat his chicken and said it was too hot had to get water with ice!. ..... This was a first as my son never had a problem with chicken tikka??? I enjoyed my sheesh kebabs.... thumb up to the chef!! My husband loved his fish once arrived and his methi chicken tikka. Anything we didn't finished was packed in a little takeaway. But must say the taramind sauce was fantastic.... Any chance for the recipe please???
As we went to pay the bill we had noticed that instead of chicken tikka it had masala tikka which is why my son said his was hot!!Overall the cost prices for meal was adequate, we sat were they had the open grill kitchen.

We pop in when we've had to work late, we usually sit in one of the front rooms as I love the history of old West Brom pubs,
lots of choice and you can choose meat or veggie options and choose 'the curry' ... Fabulous idea! if you can't find anything you fancy you're obviously too fussy!!!!
Meals are very quick, hot, fresh and the bread is always superb,
There is a bbq at the back which looks great,
Spent our 'works do' here at Christmas, as I'm local I suggested The Vine, colleagues are still talking about!!!!!!!!! They loved it.

This is now a favourite with me and my work colleagues for a visit after work. The food and the atmosphere are excellent. From the outside it looks like an old fashioned boozer up a West Bromwich side street but when you step inside it is like a tardis. Cosy small drinking areas at the front (original part of the pub) and two large dining areas at the back one with an open grill kitchen so you can see the food being cooked. Extensive curry and grill menus and Indian beer on draft. Cost of a meal including a drink under £10. Main courses are large so think twice about starters. Quick service and everything served fresh, hot and full of flavour. No frills system order curries at the bar and grills directly at the open kitchen area and you get an order number - collect when your order is called. Definitely the best eating place in the area.
