An old fashioned pub from the outside that’s been spruced up inside, The Vine offers excellent value and great tasting Indian food.
You’ll need to get your head around the slightly convoluted ordering system (curries at the bar, barbecued stuff at the grill) which you means you won’t necessarily get stuff at the same time. But the food is pretty good overall.
Starters were decent, although the chicken pakoras tasted only like a slightly spicier version of chicken nuggets. The mains were very good and the grill offerings are packed full of succulent flavour.
The service is friendly and helpful although the guy who took the order at the grill didn’t explain how it all worked which made it confusing.
Overall, an enjoyable and family friendly visit. It scores highly for the badger picture on the wall.

When I first read the description of The Vine I wasn't convinced but thought I'd take a chance after reading other reviews.
And I'm glad I did.
Staying away overnight for work and this is just what I needed. A well kept pint and a tasty curry in a welcoming atmosphere.Friendly staff, clean and a very 'local pub' feel without feeling unwelcoming.
Would recommend and be happy to visit again.

Was at The Vine on Saturday; Yet again the welcome was fabulous, service was quick considering how full it was. I had Chicken Tikka from the Grill and a fresh Nan, everyone was enjoying there curries, or kebabs fresh from the grill. If your passing or playing West Brom this place is a must! Away fans always welcome and never any trouble; just how Football should be!!

Best currys and atmosphere. Need to do better on the house wines (rough) and general drink choices.

Best away trip of any season. Can park nearby and easy walk to the ground.
Must get to the pub about 3 hours before ko or it is too packed for a table. The Bathams beer is highly recommended but always runs out early , they then offer bottles. However, the alternative draught beers have always been good.
They do an indoor BBQ chicken tikka, kebabs, naan, chips etc or you can order curries off the main menu, most go for the BBQ.
Home fans are great, no bother at all , really friendly atmosphere.
So good , if the Villa and/ or Wolves get promoted I think we'll still be visiting the Vine!! 😊

We always come here when we play West Brom away. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always top notch. Good mix of home and away fans with no bother from either. Good value for money curry. Be gutted if (when) they get relegated.

Visited The Vine before and after Terriers away win at The Hawthorns. Parked on street nearby. Friendly pub with Albion and Town fans mixing in a welcoming environment. Good beer and tandoori BBQ fire pit food (not much for vegans but hey ho). Easy 15 walk to the ground alongside Metro line. Splendid day out capped by a Town away win 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️👍

Been here a few times but the first time on a Sunday evening. Beer is great. Clientele hmm a bit loud but ok. But I had goat vindaloo, keema naan and pilau rice. Keema great, lovely rice but the goat was just full of bones. Sorry not the best.

Very busy lunchtime, but service was fast and food couldn’t be faulted. Had to return the following day, Friday, so even busier but the same standard of food and service. Need to visit one evening to sample the full curry 🍛 experience. 👍

You know it's good when you go there twice in one week. First time was perfect although we were confused on the process to order. The place is VERY family friendly, such a warm atmosphere! I think they need to find a new way to serve food instead of shouting numbers out, when it's busy no one can hear and that makes It difficult for staff.

Also note - the free chilli sauce available to you is the best, GET SOME!!!
