When I visit family in the West Midlands, I usually pop in for a quick bite to eat,before heading back off home to The Forest of Dean. I have been visiting the vine for over 25 years, and have always enjoyed the food, and found the service very good.
My last trip was not as great as previous visits, the bar staff are fast efficient and very customer focused, however, I can't help thinking that the staff in the Grill section are not quite in synch with the bar and kitchen staff.
Reason I say this is that, we don't get a particularly warm feeling from the people working the grills. We usually have to wait quite a long time for food, which I understand needs to be cooked long enough as it's all fresh and tastes delicious.
But the orders get mixed up with other customers, causing more unnecessary delays, and there is not so much as an explanation from the gentleman operating the grill.Something is not working right here.
I would suggest, you need to try and tighten up in this area, and try to raise to the high standards of the excellent bar staff.
I like to always give a balanced 100% honest review, so I hope this is taken in the spirit which is intended. Thanks

Had dinner here with my partner. Hadn’t been to a bbq grill before and it exceeded my expectations. Food was out quick and I thought reasonably priced. It got quite busy about 7.30pm but the food still came out steadily. We had food from the grill (chicken tikka and a mixed kebab) and both were great. Very filling....would go again and try some more of their menu. 🙂👍

This place was brilliant for a pre-match pint. A real find! If you go make sure to pop out the back for some food it was brilliant, tasty and not overly expensive. If we ever play West Brom again I'm sure to go back.

Delicious food. Four of us piled up the table with a varied selection including tandoori chicken, pork, lentils and fish. A few curry’s and breads .
All the meat was tender and all food was well balanced with flavour/seasoning.
The atmosphere was great.
Two down sides were parts of the restaurant were to loud (quieter in the pub it self) and you had to order some food at the bar and other food from the grill. Just a bit confusing

Tasted amazing, very good value for money. Four of us ate, 4 curries, 2 rice 2 nann, 2 starters, 2 items from the grill £53...big portions & the meat was very tender & flavoursome. Drinks from the bar very reasonable.
It's a order at the bar affair, then the waitress will just call your number & bring it to you. You order the main menu at the bar & grill in a different area in the back which you collect yourself. The grill is open & you can see your delicious meats cooking! Can get a bit noisy but the front 'old pub' bit has lots of nooks to sit in which is quiter

Been going here for over 20 years visited again 15/3/2019. This place never fails chicken tikka and pork steak from the BBQ excellent as usual. Masala fries are to die for as are the curries. Keep up the good work we love this place.

Proper home-cooked curry.... Lots of space... If you go lunchtime it can get busy between 12.30 and 1.30 so try and get there before 12....
