Great ales, very dog friendly, prices a little higher but the products on tap demand it & it helps keep the trouble makers away. The atmosphere always seems friendly & relaxed. A really beautiful traditional public house.

A big place, nice big bar area and plenty of seating. Great selection of ales available. Good food and decent value. Tv screens dotted about showing sports. Limited parking but plenty of spaces locally.

updated Oct 2024 hmm.. they dont sell commerical ales i prefer. but the barman (forgot to ask his name) is knowledgeable about ales available [huge selection] he recommended "fireside" which was a delicious pint for my sweeter tastes [clear and good temp]... but there was only cobs available foodwise (monday evening) standard cobs, not particularly soft, but the onion and cheese is fresh. atmos is ok for a city centre pub, the seats are shiny leather (downstairs) so i found myself slipping off them... not that comfy and the downstairs fireplace is of plastic variety. board games for the kids (and big kids)! nice touch... dog friendly policy sealed the deal. if they served hot food on mondays (this would be 5 star experience). can recommend.

A quick drop in during the day after needing a break from shopping. Lovely service, great knowledge of all the beers and ciders, but couldn't comment more on atmosphere etc as it really was the right time of day to be busy enough to say. Nice setup and comfy seats to enjoy our respite.

This pub has to be one of the best proper pubs for real ales in<br>Saturday 20th April 2024<br>This is one of the best real ale pubs in the United Kingdom. I've been in 2000 real ale pubs read all my previous reviews of the wonderful real ale pub<br>Keep up this great work all involved<br>Usually, double figures of hand pumped ales on offer<br>Saturday 14th September 2024<br>This pub in Walsall has always served a great pint of real ales and has so many real ales on it is a must to drink real ales on and there all well kept.<br>My only concerns were today that the staff were very lack lustre and the service waiting time was far to long. I waited 10 minutes to be served, and people queuing behind me got served before me

Large traditional pub, tastefully restored. We arrived at opening time for lunch, so quiet at first but filling up later. Large collection of draught beers. Efficient bar service, and food was delivered in a reasonable time. Our filled baguettes came with chips and salad, and were quite substantial meals. We enjoyed the food.
