I started training here about 5 months ago and can honestly say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time so far! It’s such a great place to learn, the academy and facilities are top notch and coach David, Emma and everyone in the team are amazing!

*Formally known as GB WS1, now GB WS2, I am still training here and have not looked back since. They academy has moved location to a new amazing facility with plans to expand even bigger. There is a variety of classes from beginners to advanced classes to suit everyone and a yoga class once a week. With top class and friendly coaches, there is no better place to begin your Jiu Jitsu journey.

If you are considering starting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and are hesitating for whatever reason then please come to Gracie Barra WS1 to try it out. It is an amazing academy with brilliant and friendly coaches who are very supportive and excellent in teaching the art. Even the students who have more experience are always willing to help the new beginners which makes you feel at ease and part of the family. I hesitated in joining but once I did I was addicted and now can’t get enough - and that is purely because of the people of GBWS1. Hope to see you on the mat :)

I've been to a few different martial arts gyms/centres in my time, and hands down this is the best of them all.

Highly recommend to anyone who wants to train BJJ, great family atmosphere, friendly coaches. Most of all, there is a good balance of being relaxed but when class starts everyone is in focus mode.
Practically, there is a good mix of classes with varied times to suit everyone as well as BJJ focused yoga as an additional bonus to help with breathing and flexibility.

I have trained under the Gracie Barra banner for over 5 years. I recently joined WS2 and have felt very welcome and instantly part of the family. This is a fantastic place to train in jiu jitsu both Dave And Emma are really nice and very helpful and the training is top notch not to mention the location is in the middle of Walsall town centre I would take my child there every day if I could. We do as many lessons as possible there and my child absolutely loves it there it is not just the training but the atmosphere and community spirit that goes with it

My son attends here, the whole team are welcoming, helpful and treat children and adults with respect at all times. They take time to get to know your child and the lessons are hard work, but still keep your child engaged to work hard.
Prices for training and uniforms are reasonable, uniform is high quality. There are different training and payment options available.
