I started off my driving journey with another driving company and the man that was teaching me rushed me a lot and it really knocked my confidence. When I started with Chris and Rio I was very nervous and he saw that and took his time and broke everything down for me and even though I am still not perfect he really has helped build up the confidence and made me believe that one day I will pass my driving test.

Chris is the type of driving instructor that everyone needs. He makes learning to drive a fun and enjoyable experience. He builds trust and confidence in his pupils who, thanks to his high standard of instruction, will become safe and highly proficient drivers.

Chris is one of a kind driving instructor. Right from the start he made me feel as if we were a team and that I never needed to be anxious or worried about anything. He has always ensured that I am part of the planning process for each lesson and through this has encouraged me to approach learning to drive in a new way. He is always willing to help and adapt and respond to the changing needs of his pupils and makes sure that he provides a personal touch to each lesson. I am very grateful that he is teaching me to become a confident and competent driver and look forward to developing my skills further with his help and guidance.

Driving instructor - Paul Fisher
I started my lessons with not even the slightest idea of how to drive and don’t know much about cars at all. From my very first lesson, Paul has taken the time to ensure that I am comfortable with everything and never hesitates to further explain something if I am struggling with it. He is always very positive about things, meaning you never feel like rubbish if you make mistakes whilst learning as he always reassures me that things like this happen and helps me to avoid making the same ones again which is important to me as If I am comfortable it makes me less nervous when on my driving lessons and much more focused. He always asks what it is that is like to focus on during my lessons as well as giving advice on what he thinks I need to practice more which helps a lot as not only am I doing the things I want to do but the things I need to do also! He is very friendly and outgoing which goes a long way when you are learning something new and are initially quite nervous. I would definitely recommend.

I’ve been having lessons with Paul at Rio for about 6 months now, after multiple attempts of learning to drive with other instructors over the years I’d quit feeling like I had made very little progression or from a lack of belief in myself. However something with Paul has clicked and I’ve felt more confident and calm behind the wheel of a car than I ever have done in my life, and I can’t thank him enough for putting up with me, believing in me, being so unbelievably friendly and raising my confidence to levels I never knew possible. I’ve still got a way to go, but I can certainly feeling myself improving each lesson, thank you so much Paul. :)

After previously having a different driving instructor who made me feel very uncomfortable & actually shouted at me & made me cry I was close to throwing in the towel completely & just giving up with learning to drive.
Then I came across Rio driving school.
Paul instantly made me feel at ease, asked about my previous experience & of any concerns or anxieties I had. I can honestly say I never thought I would be where I am today. I 100% would recommend Rio Driving school.
