Before I had gone with Rio driving school I had 3 previous instructors. Each of which didn't suit my style of learning and I found myself not looking forward to lessons rather than enjoying them. My first lesson with Rio and Gary as my instructor, I knew that I'd feel comfortable behind the wheel and that I would progress my driving skills. Gary helped give me the confidence to pass my test on my first attempt. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I could never thank Gary enough for helping me get my driving licence. I never was confident this was something I could do, but his patience, his encouragements and his lessons got me there in the end! Learning with him was a very enjoyable experience from start to finish. Thanks for everything Gary!

Paul was excellent from my very first lesson. He was 15 minutes early for my first lesson and said I am outside. When you are ready, told me what car he was driving and where he was parked so I could find him easy. He was interested in how I wished to be treated as old instructor was not right for me. He made me feel at ease from the moment we started talking, he is patient and kind and doesn't mind recapping anything you haven't quite understood. He shows you things in this folder to give you visual aids, which helps me. He recommended a book which I brought and it's really helped me to understand how the cars work and what to do while driving in the car. His confidence in me really helps plus he is so encouraging to me in what he says which boosts my confidence in myself. I couldn't ask for better. He only steps in when he has no other option. Very highly recommended especially if like me you are nervous. He lets you take your time when driving and doesn't comment on what you do wrong, we seem to just start again and nothing more is said. He is so friendly it's like talking to a close friend. He is trustworthy and reliable plus I think he is the best for me. I am so glad my husband found him online for me. I was thinking of quitting when with old instructor but Paul said there's nothing wrong with my driving and I expect learners to make mistakes as we can learn from them. I want to say a huge thank you to Paul for his help so far and I am sure I will enjoy learning to drive with you as my teacher, who I trust completely. Thank you.

Awesome and inspiring first driving lesson with Paul from Rio driving school. Excellent tips given and a comfortable approach with criticism towards me. Identifying things I could improve on early to give me more time to improve so I can become test ready sooner but at a pace comfortable. Would highly recommend Paul at Rio for your driving lessons.

The review for my instructor Gary as been an emotional one, we've had many downs with not passing on a few occasions but we finally managed to get myself passed today. Gary is the best instructor I've known and he definitely knows what he's on about when it comes to driving. If it wasn't for Gary's constant positivity and keeping me going through the dull times I probably would have given up, so I thank him for that. I'm very pleased with what I achieved with Gary and I 100% recommend anyone to him. I wish him all the best for the future, quality instructor and a top bloke.

Originally passed my driving test back in early 2007 with my old instructor. This would also be the last year i tried using a car, which was a courtesy car later that year. The following 11 years I never drove or had much interest in doing so. After a relative passed their test with Paul in September last year, i was recommended to try some refresher lessons with Paul to get back used to driving, so in October 2018 I started some refresher lessons with him. On my first lesson I was understandably a bit rusty with the car functions/controls, but with Paul’s attitude and help I quickly got back into it. What stood out for me with Paul was his relaxed, yet enthusiastic and supportive approach to driving. Always keeping cool and having time to listen to anything you want to know and work alongside your needs, as well as being chatty and friendly about other subjects. I took around 8-10 lessons total with him and I quickly noticed my confidence and driving memory/skills greatly improve. This is due to Paul specialising in working with those who are low on confidence/anxious about driving. So with this I found myself able to go out in a car with little to no trouble after such a long time off the road. I even went on the motorway with Paul for the first time, which was challenging, yet very interesting and rewarding. This experience has also revived my interest in driving/cars. Highly recommended instructor.

Gary has been an amazing instructor! He was always patient with me when I made mistakes and very helpful with making sure I knew my reference points when doing manoeuvres. He was very easy to talk to and always flexible with my lessons. I 100% recommended him as an instructor!

Passed first time!! Thanks to Kully's excellent instruction. He was extremely patient, polite, professional and supportive. I cannot praise enough how supported I felt being a very anxious driver and had lost my confidence and stopped driving lessons a long time ago. 12 lessons with Kully and all anxiety gone!! Thank you.

I really enjoy my lessons with Sarah I think she gives really clear instructions and challenges me when necessary! I feel at ease even in trickier situations and I look forward to my lessons each week and to finding out what I'll be progressing onto.

I recently passed my test with Rio and I couldn't have done it without the support of Sarah and Paul. I was so nervous when I started my lessons but they both helped to bring out my confidence.
