The school holidays are nearly here once again on the Isle of Man! How are you planning to keep the kids amused this summer?

Isle of Man Coastguard warning to Jetski and other Fast Craft users in respect of Safe Bathing Areas. There are ‘Safe Bathing Areas’ in Douglas, Castletown, Derbyhaven, Port St Mary, Port Erin, Peel, Ramsey and Laxey.
Local organisations of all sizes are being encouraged to submit entries for the 2013 Energy Awards, which are now open to submissions. Schools are also invited to submit entries for the 2013 Junior Energy Awards which are being run in conjunction with the Department of Education and Children and kindly supported by HSBC.
Hop tu Naa is just around the corner and despite battling with the recent bad weather, Cregneash is making the final preparations for its Traditional Hop tu Naa festival on 27th and 28th October.
THE new St Ninian's Lower School was formally opened this afternoon by the Minister for Education and Children. Unveiling a plaque in front of an audience of 200 guests, staff and students, Tim Crookall MHK said the impressive new building at Bemahague had 'set news standards' for education in the Island and was 'already proving a real asset for the community'.
Three local businesses, all members of thebestof The Isle of Man (which promotes recommended local island businesses) joined forces with thebestof The Isle of Man team at The Southern and The Royal Manx Agricultural Show to raise money for local charities The Special Care Baby Unit SCBU, The Peel and District Support Group , The Hospice , The Manx Workshop for the Physically Disabled.
Mosaic, a Christian women's group, have raised £6,937.65 to support the work of local charity Crossroads Care. Mosaic pledged to raise Crossroads funds at the group's annual conference in September 2011 and met their target through sponsored walks, coffee mornings and individual donations.
Each and every year the Parish Walk raises thousands of pounds for charity and this year Manx Telecom has chosen Crossroads Care as one of five charities to profile and encourage walkers to raise money for.
