What makes life special on the Isle of Man?

Many people 'across' may view the Isle of Man as being full of multi millionaire ' tax dodgers' who use the island as a place to hide away their fortunes. The reality is far from it and the island has a wide range of different people who stay or have come to live on the island for a wide variety of reasons. Many are drawn by the stunning countryside, old fashioned life style and the general feeling of being away from it all. Recently someone moved to the island for the superior quality of the air compared to their previous residence of Hong Kong. The downside to island life can be the isolation from loved ones, lack of facilities and of course the expense and difficulty of travel. What are your views on life on the Isle of Man. Would you never live anywhere else or would you prefer to be on the boat in the morning?
