Hestercombe is stunning. Truly beautiful walks, around the lake and waterfalls , which include places to stop and gather your thoughts, and breath. Great for children also. Themed walks available throughout the year. Very nice cafe restaurant too. A great escape from modern rat race.

Really lovely meal. Gardens were beautiful even in December. House itself disappointing. Definitely shows its institutional period but understand the cost of a proper renovation. Art exhibition left us cold. Main issue is to get to restaurant you have to pay the entrance fee so we would return for a meal but not with that additional cost.

Visited Hestercombe gardens at the weekend and was amazed by how beautiful it is.
The gardens are designed by Gertrude jykel and are well worth a visit.
You have a woodland walk with a huge pear pond, waterfall and follies scattered throughout the walk, with magnifiyviews of the vale of Taunton .
The Orangery is stunning and would be an ideal place to have a wedding.
The tea shop serves wonderful homemade cakes.

Hestercombe Gardens is beautiful, there is a cafe located in what were the stables, the food, whilst a bit overpriced was lovely. The restaurant in the house gets busy so getting a table may not be possible. The house was a bit disappointing, only 2 rooms and not furnished, upstairs was an exhibition, not to our taste. The gardens are what makes this a must visit, just beautiful.

Lovely gardens and history from the house itself. Particularly nice in summer too. Dog friendly and a great place to take the family out on a free day.

I’ve been here many times and it’s a really nice walk. Lots to see with the lake, waterfalls and random buildings which are scattered on the grounds. The staff are super friendly and it has a really nice coffee shop. They also do a Christmas market in December which was nice! Great way to spend a few hours and only a short drive from Taunton. Been many times and will go again

I love this place so much that I got bought a membership for my birthday! It's so beautiful, great for all seasons, and fantastic to explore all round the place. I've been with my niece and nephew and they just loved all the little nooks and crannies and different paths that can be taken round the gardens. It's a nice, relaxed, and great value activity. Plus, the second hand bookshop always has some cracker finds!
