Particularly liked the gardens and lake. The small museum about hydropower and gas production is good.
The house isn't so good having been owned by the council and therefore changed to suit them. It is a blank canvas with a few photos and exhibition in some rooms, however a few original features remain.
The cafe is good with indoor and outdoor seating.

I have been using Yummy Mummys for about 6 or 7 years now and they are fab. Friendly environment and knowledgeable about what is best suited to my hair. Anya has been my stylist since she started as a trainee and now fully qualified, Kerry was always on hand to help and guide Anya when needed but this wasn't often and I've always left with what I've asked for, even better than my own expectations.
I've had trims, cuts and various colours. Even getting rid of my dark box dyes for highlights.

You know you are on a golf course the minute you turn into Oake Manor. You drive past the 10th and through the 11th holes before parking.
Staff were friendly and welcoming to a single player on what was a very busy few days for them. They got me a tee time albeit mid afternoon, they arranged a couple of lessons with no fuss, and generally were extremely nice.
The course itself had recently had some work done on the greens so they weren't perfect but it didn't spoil an excellent course. Some water but not hugely frightening. Very tempting on the 6th hole, my favourite on the course.
If you are in the area, don't miss out on the opportunity. You won't be sorry.
Oh, and the lessons really helped too. Ian, their resident pro, knew exactly how to pitch the advice. I wish he lived closer to me.
