We joined the Historic House Association and chose this house for a lovely Mothers Day visit. Glorious sunshine and spring flowers. Well planned woodland paths, winding up and down with many interesting features to find on the way. A waterfall, a witches house, a Chinese seat, 2 ponds, Gothic Alcove, Mausoleum, watermill together with the gardens and formal gardens. The house is open as an art gallery which wasn't impressive, modern art can be great but this wasn't. A shame. A lovely cafe come tea place in a courtyard and shop. The big disappointment was they said no food or drink to be taken round and no picnics. Why, when there were picnic benches and other people picnicing. The picnic area was right by the car park before you have even paid to get in. Such a shame that you can't sit and relax with your picnic. It covers a large area and so you don't want to have to go back to the car for food and drink and then retrace your steps. I would recommend this garden as it is so lovely and children would enjoy finding the little places of interest.

Stunning place to walk around. The afternoon tea is a must. A bit 'steap' but worth it. Lovely chilled out atmosphere.

We decided on a last minute visit to Hestercombe to see The Bluebell Walk with our dog Ozzie.

It was picturesque with whole swathes of the woods covered by the gorgeous bluebells.

The main grounds and gardens were immaculately kept with lovely walks and views of the surrounding countryside.

The staff were friendly and helpful as always and although we did not stop for a drink or a bite to eat I would definitely recommend the food here too.

My partner and I were staying at the Mount Somerset Hotel, a short drive away and this visit was inclusive of our stay. The weather was not particularly good, overcast with a constant threat of rain but this did not detract from the spacious gardens there are to be discovered. There are water falls, grottos and areas of interest to hold one's attention.

Such a lovely place to go for a wander on your own or a stroll with a friend. If you've time to stay longer there's a nice cafe and shop. At the moment the Bluebell woods are heavenly. Well worth having membership with a guest. Two trips and it's paid for and if you are local you can pop in just for coffee! Definitely worth supporting and enjoying.

Went with a group including people with disabilities, lovely gardens to explore not too big.lovely restuarent inside or out under a large canopy , food first class plenty of choice, staff very friendly and helpful, nice little gift shop selling bits and pieces and pot plants, I would recommend it either just to walk the gardens, pretty good for wheelchairs, or just a coffee or light lunch .

An excellent place to visit to see a range of gardening styles, with some lovely plants - some good ideas to take home!
