First time ever at this venue. We came because of the good reviews we heard and read...
We were sat in the "music room" where it was very cold and loud music...We had trouble heqring eachother.These issues were slightly remediated by staff.Despite the very nice service and attentive staff, we cannot say we will return. The carvery was average, nothing special about it. The chocolate fudge brownie came with a chocolate icecream, instead of vanilla...That was a faux pas. Another member of our group had vanilla and chocolate iceacream...But what an icecream it was...Came almost melted, and the vanilla one, was a sorrowful excuse for an icecream...very strange colour and more ice than cream...The remembrance strawberry cheesecake was clearly frozen and defrosted...It came to the table still half frozen...We did not complain as we were too embarrassed because of the two friends we invited for the meal...
Oh...and from the four of us, we "thank you" for the stomach cramps and diarrhoea!👍

Food is amazing! Had the carvery today and the food is always outstanding and the staff are super friendly. Would definitely recommended going but you definitely have to book as it gets super busy! :)

Went for sunday lunch with my partner. Weather was terrible. Drive to the pub was terrible with floods. BUT. The food, service was outstanding. Great service from young ladies behind the bar. 10/10

Amazing venue ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We used The Allerford Inn for our wedding venue, it was absolutely perfect and more than what we dreamt of. The staff were incredible and helped me make my dream a reality. No matter how much I stressed in the lead up to the wedding the staff took on that load and helped to make everything run smoothly so I could just relax on the day and just enjoy it. With a very short turn around I only had 8 weeks to plan my wedding from start to finish but Shane put me at ease and we had the most perfect magical day. If anyone is thinking of having The Allerford Inn for their wedding venue I 100% recommend!
The food was amazing, we had so many compliments at how tasty it all was and the selection, there was something for everyone.

Lovely pub and very kind staff but found the carvery just above average but from reviews it might have been an off day.
It's a small but very busy pub with lots of customers which shows it's popularity.
We walked in and only took 5 minutes to get to the bar and be sat. The atmosphere where we were seated was great as it was the smaller area which helped with noise but found where the carvery was served very loud but it's a large room so acoustics doesn't help.
We found it affordable as much as any other carvery. I opted for beef and pork for meats and had much of the veg.
The pork had great flavour and the dauphinoise potatoes were amazing with a great creamy garlic flavour. I very much enjoyed the red cabbage and peas but found the roast potatoes disappointing and the parsnips hard. But you cannot win everything, overall I enjoyed the meal.
I would love to go back again as the scenery around the inn was lovely and the staff were amazing.
I give 4 stars out of 5 but I would like to go again and rate it 5.
