We had a family party here, nice venue, good food. We were able to decorate the venue during the day. We also ate her the night before. You definitely get value for money with the portion size

It had been many years since I'd last visited this pub and to be honest had forgotten it. However when it came up on a recent search trying to find somewhere for lunch that recognises that not everyone wants a full meal in the middle of the day we decided to give it a go and were pleasantly surprised. Courtesy of sat nav we found our way to the large and well laid out car park and were greeted by a smart and well maintained entrance. The interior was equally attractive. The food was good and the service polite and prompt. We hope to visit again and would have done before now if our memories had been jogged - some signage in the area particularly if approaching from the A38 direction would certainly help.

We visited today following on from a recent visit during our nephews' wedding day. We had enjoyed the feast on the day and were wondering if a repeat performance was on the cards... We were not disappointed.

We arrived in good time and parked right outside in the disabled parking area, on entering we were warmly greeted and an order was taken and a table provided (number 11). We were told to wait until the coaster-like item on our table vibrated and when it did we could go up and collect our carvery, this is an awesome idea, it saves staff having to track you down to let you know.

After about five minutes the device burst into life and nearly gave me a cardiac episode as it pulsated around the table. We went to collect the carvery and the chef seemed to recall us from a few weeks ago when we had a little chat. We were given what I can only call size 11 shoe-like slices of meat (I had beef and turkey, my wife had pork and turkey), and they filled the plates. We helped ourselves to an awesome array of items including Yorkshire puds, peas, carrots, stuffing, and cabbage there was a very good selection is probably something to take away from this.

We enjoyed our bountiful feast and perused the dessert menu (this was probably our greatest mistake!!) I ordered a Smores Waffle and my wife had the roulade and oh my by the time we had finished we could feel our "food babies" ready to be birthed... We were fit to burst, honestly, if a sharp implement had got close to me I would have burst and a fountain of semi-digested carvery would have erupted!!

I would heartily recommend visiting this awesome establishment, I know my wife and I will be back, once we have fasted for a few days :)

This restaurant is excellent from the greeting when you arrive to the service you get and the wonderful food and the deserts are very good, the dusty manager Giles was very helpful from ordering the drinks to ordering the food and he gave excellent customer service, I would recommend the honeycombe sundae as the favourite desert together with the carvery Sunday roast and the size of the meals are large too on their normal menu.

Excellent quality Sunday roast (carvery style). Everything was cooked to perfection. The only thing I could not work out was why you are limited to two meats when there are three. Why? Surely if you want to try all three you have three smaller bits. The carver telling lots of people you can only have two is negative and creates an issue that does not need to exist. My rating would be five if you could have a small bit of each. Just my personal view but as I say, the food, service and decor is all excellent.

Went, for the fourth or fifth year, for Christmas lunch and were not disappointed.

As soon as you walk in you feel at home because of the warmth and sincerity of Tom and his teams greeting and welcome.

The food was splendid (as we have come to expect), the atmosphere lovely and the service from the team second to none.

This place really is a gem and in the years we have been going there for Christmas and all other times, they have never missed a beat and are genuinely consistently friendly, helpful and accommodating.

If you haven’t been, you really should try and visit, you will not be disappointed.

We were booked back into the Allerford Inn for my birthday, having been there many times now and really enjoyed the food and service.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted at the bar and advised where our table was, and joy of joys it was the usual table (number 11). We sat down and it was only then that we noticed the staff had left us a welcome message and a bottle of bucks fizz on ice, what a lovely gesture. I did tell the staff that I appreciated this and that I don't drink any alcohol while driving (not even 4%) but we would take it home if they would allow and have it later.

The meal was fantastic as usual, we had a lovely discussion with the chef about the various types of meat on offer (Beef, Pork and Turkey) and some good-natured banter, I do find the staff are really happy here and so easygoing. We collected the rest of the fresh veg and the Yorkshire puddings bigger than your fist and tucked in. Most delicious.

We decided to go for broke on a special day and ordered a dessert, the white chocolate roulade is just amazing, light and fluffy and the raspberry sauce is quite tart. We highly recommend this.

Thank you so much to everyone at the Allerford Inn, obviously, we will return (soon)

Brilliant meal. Second time I've been here and found the whole experience pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful. I messed up my Sunday lunch booking but they still accommodated me with a table. The ham egg and chips are very tasty and we're very generous portion. It tasted very fresh and good quality. I felt that I got really good value for money unlike some other local pubs where you feel a bit ripped off.

Overall the pub is nicely decorated as well. We'll be coming back soon!
