Big big thank you to the Allerford team for another outstanding Christmas lunch. From the minute you walk through the door to the minute you leave, nothing is too much trouble and everyone is so friendly and helpful. To top it off the food is, as always, outstanding - we left so full we had to take the cheeseboard home with us. Again a huge thank you for a lovely day, a fantastic meal and for all of the team who gave up their Christmas Day so we could enjoy ours!

Visited the Allerford Inn at Norton Fitzwarren. Quite difficult to find but looking for Victory crossing on the railway would help as it is next door. Te carvery was hot with plenty of vegetable varieties. We had a choice of dauphinoise and roast potatoes. Roast parsnip, peas, carrots, cauliflower cheese.
We had to wait a bit for desert so service is a little slow.
Overall a good inexpensive restaurant.

Came for the Sunday carvery after hearing good reviews.
We had booked, so after initial queue at the bar to order drinks / be sat at our table, we settled in.
Choice of 3 meats (beef, turkey and pork) which are carved for you, then it’s help yourself to a range of veggies: yorkshires, roast potatoes, dauphinois potatoes, roast parsnip, peas, carrots, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, red cabbage and stuffing. Gravy and sauces were on a table to the side. Kids get a smaller plate for the same options.
Desserts were offered at our table as our plates were cleared - I had the homemade cheesecake special (lime and elderflower) which was very light, caramel apple pie with custard and a kids chocolate cake with cream kept us all happy.
Pub lacks atmosphere, though - room layout is a little strange, but not sure if that’s just where we were sitting.
Menu for the rest of the week looked good, but I was just visiting, so not sure when I’ll get here again.

My girlfriend and I took her mum and Nan to The Allerford Inn for a Sunday Carvery. We were not disappointed the meat was amazing from a choice of turkey, beef and pork. The veg and roast potatoes were great. The only thing that could of improved the meal was if the gravey wasn’t so watery. The chocolate desert were so tasty as well. The only thing stopping this being 5 star in my mind was the gravey and the terrible pints I had which were both flat.

Visited on Sunday for a carvery, great selection of meat and veg. Yorkshire’s were huge and lovely crispy potatoes. The gravy was thick and full of flavour, great selection of veg. Really good carvery, personally like the beef a little less cooked but that’s just personal taste. Desert was nice but not anything special, would get a 5* otherwise. We were seated in the carvery area and it did feel a little crammed, felt like they were trying to get as many tables in. Will definitely be back

The Allerford has been fully redecorated so it really has that clean fresh feel about it. It has been well laid out with covid in mind, all the tables are very well spaced apart with markings on the floor. You are shown to your table, where your drinks order is taken and then invited up to the carvery table by table. The carvery area has screens with staff serving everything you request to have put on your plate. All staff have masks or face shields, some are wearing both, so we felt really safe getting served and eating our meal. The quality of the carvery was superb as usual and it was a joy to dine here after such a long break away. The Allerford team have done a wonderful job in getting it up to such a high standard for reopening and we look forward to many more meals here in the coming months.

The wonderful Allerford Inn reopened yesterday and went for Sunday carvery. Redecorated and revamped inside and out with lovely calming decor in shades of grey, new signage, new Covid-friendly way of working but still the fantastic team who always look after us so well.
Fewer tables and clear signage to support safe social distancing, the food was up to their usual high standard as was the service and the friendliness of team. Hands down the best carvery you’ll get, if you’ve been you’ll know what I’m talking about, if you haven’t then you absolutely should, you will not be disappointed.

Really amazing sunday carvery, choice of 3 meats (pork, beef and turkey) . Awesome choice of veg which was cooked perfectly, and crispy roast potatoes. Defo reccomend. We stopped on our way passing after a trip in cornwall. Not far from m5 so worth the detour for a proper Sunday roast. Desserts looked amazing too but too full to have 1. Next time
