Nice grounds with lots of follies a bit similar to Stourhead. Disappointing house as only a few rooms open as bookshop, restaurant etc.

To be honest, it was more like going to a country park than a garden. The formal gardens where pleasant. However, lunch in the cafe was top notch.

Great coffee and cake, shame about the ban on the cycles in the courtyard. Bike park is not visible from the cafe and bikes are not insured if stolen unless you use a gold standard lock which weighs about 2 kg which no one uses as they are too heavy and cumbersome to cycle with. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.
