Absolutely amazing food, the service was absolutely spot on! Our server tinkerbell went above and beyond very polite and super helpful! We were served the second we walked in, no wait time at all, very well priced for the amazing quality of food, very nice atmosphere within a beautiful countryside location. We will be back

We attended for the first time in a while, we were warmly greeted and shown our table, the waiting staff Tinkerbelle was very attentive polite and greeted us with a smile, ordering was easy and we were shown the Carvery. There were 3 choices of meat, cooked to perfection as was the veg. I was even happy to go as far as to say the food was on a par to the quality of a home cooked roast, well done everyone, always a team effort to get this good. Thank You and will be seeing you soon

We had a very enjoyable day at this fascinating place. The gardens are extensive and varied. Keeping them looking at their most impressive in this prolonged heatwave must be very challenging but they still look good and are a pleasure to walk around. The house itself was very interesting and unusual and we enjoyed the fascinating displays of photos and artefacts from the different periods of its history which gave a real insight what life must have been like in those days. We enjoyed talking to the very helpful volunteer who was keen to share her extensive knowledge with us. The entrance fee is very reasonable. Thank you and we would definitely like to return if we are in the Taunton area again.

This is a beautiful gem in the middle of Taunton. I really enjoyed looking out of the windows of the Great Hall onto the other historical buildings within the vicinity and imagining what it must have looked like in the past.
I thought the focus would be the history of the buildings, but it includes going back to fossils and treasures discovered in and around Somerset. It brought to life the rich history of the region.
It's very well laid out, modern and well maintained, with lovely facilities- a little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.
Recommended to pass an hour or two.

Cannot praise OAKE enough for hosting a family Wake recently. The room was perfect - beautifully laid out, the food fresh with good choice options, and staff attentive without being intrusive. Would not hesitate to recommend (or use again) for a private event. Thank you to Charlotte and team for providing just the right space we needed.
