Hestercombe is a mix of formal gardens and woodland. It's a wonderful place to escape for a few hours. For families it is worth noting that it's really easy to get around with a pushchair and there is a small play area at the entrance. The cafe also serves lovely children's options.

We went for the Christmas Market which was good but extremely busy - the grounds and gardens are scenic but much better when visited in Summer/Spring (have been before and its amazing) - garden not at their best in the Winter so a bit of a disappointment in that regard. Still worth a visit!

Great for a peaceful walk and a spot of lunch. They have regular events for Halloween and Xmas etc need good shoes as paths can be tricky especially after rain.

Despite it being a cold, damp day; the waterfall was operational and the weather stayed clear enough for the children (3-5) to enjoy the chickens, welly walks (muddy) and feeding the ducks as well as the shelters when the weather got a bit much.

All followed by a lovely lunch at the cafe/restaurant. Bit cold out in the courtyard but that’s testament to the popularity of the place as the indoor seating was full.

Loved visiting these gardens for a quiet walk and to appreciate winter in England. Easy walk, lots to see and a great little cafe to warm up after

We have visited several times as the events can be fantastic here. Be warned - the cafe is packed and seating can be an issue. I have queued for a long time. I highly recommend the gardens themselves. They are beautiful

Well this is a nice place to have a stroll around, some nice scenery and woodland areas, waterfall and ponds. It is however quite costly to get in. I suppose on a nice summers day it may be better, but was shocked at the price- would expect this in London but certainly not sunny Taunton! The gift shop was also heavily priced for certain items. They need a little bit more there to make it worth the money.

This is the first time we have been to Hestercombe Gardens, what a delightful surprise. The gardens have good paths for anyone who may find walking a bit of a challenge or any young families with buggies. What a treat when we walked around the corner to see the lovely waterfall. All the different follies were also a neat surprise. We will definitely be back in the spring to see the colours of the many flowers. There is seating outside of the cafe but it was particularly cold yesterday so ate inside - seating is limited.
