It's good for Taunton. I wasn't expecting much as Taunton is quite a small town but it has romans, dinosaurs and a bit on the death penalty as well as a cafe and people in dress.<br><br>Worth a trip if you're in the area.

Extensive museum with a wide range of exhibits and plenty of context, audiovisual displays, art installations etc.<br><br>Complete with very good cafe with courtyard seating, including shade umbrellas and some under cover.

Very modern museum inside a hall from the 1200s where many major historical events have taken place. The style is to focus on fewer outstanding pieces in a thematic manner. The museum has a number of world class items that justify this approach. Has a slightly expensive cafe and regular exhibitions. The current international photography one is excellent, despite the relentlessly woke burblings on the descriptions. Very rarely do they add anything to the striking visual images, images that stand up for themselves and explain themselves well anyway.
