Family and I came here to for a delicious carvery and we couldn’t have been more spoilt. From the warm welcome by the young lady at the bar, sufficient table service to the amazingly priced and outstanding carvery! All home cooked and fresh - perfection. A friendly chef carving and we never felt that nothing was too much trouble. One family member is gluten free and in some places this is made to feel like they’re being difficult but at The Allerford Inn, you order your gluten free gravy at the bar when getting the tickets and it’s ready and waiting for you when you go to get your carvery! Simple but it’s the little touches that count! The Allerford Inn, patch yourselves on the back - you’re doing a great job! Definitely our place to go whenever we want to go out for food! Thank you!!

Had a wonderful family lunch here over the bank holiday weekend. We received a warm welcome at the bar and found the food to be fantastic. I ordered a vegetarian meal which was lovely and freshly cooked. My husband had the Allerford burger and an extra side of halloumi fries. The kids meals were great too, again, freshly cooked and high quality, with the nicest chips.
Service from our waitress was polite, friendly and relaxed. We cannot wait to go again! I think the quality of the food stands out in comparison to other family pubs.

We enjoyed the Sunday carvery late afternoon. Decided to try somewhere new. First visit. Quite busy but good service. Not quite such an olde worlde ambiance as some places but food enjoyable and plenty there. Will come again

We came here late in the day (5pm) as it is one of the only pubs still serving carvery. Fantastic selection of piping hot food, huge quantities and tasted delicious. Would highly recommend.

First time we have visited as a family for sunday dinner and it was very nice , waitress was welcoming when we arrived , shown to our table and givin the carvery cards.Food was brill , soft meat with no fat , lovely selection of veg and nice roast potatoes, well presented and clean so a happy customer.
If I had to put a negative comment it would only be a few wasps flying about when your eating which the girl did try and help get rid of them and I was a hot day.
We will visit again !!

So pleased we chose the Allerford inn to hold our late fathers wake. The staff were so respectful, the buffet was perfect. More than enough for the 50 or so guests and varied enough for all tastes. The drinks station for tea & coffee was spot on. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved.

We finally got round to trying this place having heard that the food was good. There were very few customers when we visited, and as the pub is quite large, there was zero atmosphere which we didn’t like much. We felt that the decor and layout could be improved to make it cosier or more intimate. The starters arrived fairly quickly and were nice but there was a very long wait for the mains due to a technical problem in the kitchen. My fish pie was nice but I felt the portion size (which friends had said was fairly generous) was on this occasion a bit stingy and there was hardly any potato topping. The dish it was served in could have definitely held a little more and I could have certainly eaten some more! My partner had ordered the steak pie but found that it contained carrots and gravy, but only one piece of meat. He did report this to the staff and to be fair, he was given a fresh meal. Mind you, by the time it arrived I had all but finished mine. The second piece of pie contained the appropriate amount of steak and he said it was very nice. It also looked rather more filling and satisfying than what I had chosen! Don’t think we will be rushing back!

We went to this lovely pub today for Sunday carvery and 2 of the party ate from the main menu. The beef, pork and turkey was absolutely delicious! An excellent selection of potatoes and vegetables with a generous helping of yummy gravy! Pudding was a dipping board of small churros, brownie and fruit with dipping sauces which was perfect. The rest of the family had Eton mess and various sundaes. The entire meal and the staff were a complete delight!!
