Chard Camera Club

Chard Camera Club meet at The Baptist Church Hall in Holyrood Street, Chard on the first and third Thursdays of each month (excluding July and August) at 7.30pm. Club Members work, who enter the digital images and print competitions are judged by WCPF. Constructive comments made by the Western Counties Photographic Jude are given to improve your photography. Chard Carnival Committee Ltd

Chard Carnival was revived in 1967 and is now in its 50th year. The carnival takes place on the 2nd Saturday in October each year – We also hold a Children’s Carnival on the 1st Saturday in October each year plus other events throughout the year. Chard Helmstedt Twinning Society

Contact: Collette Boyle The society is the official town twinning society. It maintains friendship. Anyone, of any age, living in Chard and surrounding villages can join our society. Its aim is to foster good relationships between Chard and Helmstedt and their inhabitants by organising cultural, social educational activities. Each alternate year one town visits the other, generally travelling by coach. We stay with a host family for the duration of the trip. When people from Helmstedt visit Chard we make every effort to find a host family for them. See more

Golden Oldies

At Golden-Oldies we believe that singing is the best way to put a smile on your face. We run monthly singing sessions where we sing songs from the 50s 60s and 70s. You don’t need to have a good voice, just so long as you enjoy music, then Goldies is for you. We ask for a £3 donation towards running costs, but we don’t turn anybody away. Why not come along to your next session and see if it’s for you. Our sessions in Chard take place at The Crowshute Centre, Crowshute Link, Chard, TA20 2EZ on the first Thursday of each month from 10.30am – 11.30am. See more

Members of Meeting Voices Community Choir have been singing together since 2000. We meet in Chard Guildhall’s Town Hall (upstairs) on Wednesday evenings. We sing and enjoy songs from around the world. The atmosphere is deliberately informal, where people feel welcome, supported and un-pressurised. See more
