We visit the museum every time we are in Taunton (once or twice a year!)
Great facilities and exhibitions. My eldest are early teens now and still enjoy spending an hour or two in the museum. There is no entry fee but collection boxes for donations to keep this great little place running.

Free. Friendly staff. Enjoyable couple of hours. Lots of well displayed fossils. A number of rooms with different displays. The redesign is beautiful altho that does make it look a little like a work of art than a museum! The audio visual panels work perfectly. The building is also interesting from the outside. Near bus station. Nearest car park is an old multi story.

Free entry although you are asked to donate. Interesting exhibits but you need to like reading to get the most out of them. Quite a small museum really but great presentation with a cafe and lots of kids activities.

Fantastic Museum, so many things to see and read. Such a mixed range of subjects. My kids loved the fossils and discovering information about the area we live in. A great place to take your kids for an educational visit.

Good place to visit for a couple of hours. Took my granddaughter and she enjoyed it. She went downstairs and had a go at the puppet making ,which went down well.
Theres a small cafe on site which offer a range of good coffees and light meals all at a resonable price ,if the weather is good a nice place to sit outside.

The museum was recommended by a curator at Dunster Castle and did not disappointment me. The exhibits covered the pre-historic eras, through Roman times, the English Civil War and up to more recent history - all in relation to the local area. I spent an hour and a half at the museum but could have spent longer. There is a nice café there as well.
