Went on a town tour called Crime and Punishment run by the museum. Totally fascinating and having lived in Taunton I didn't realise what amazing buildings and history it has. I have never before taken the time to look around.

One of my favourite thing about the museum is learning about the rich history of Somerset from the archeological objects in a great building which was once a castle. So cool!

By chance we came upon the museum today. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of immaculately presented exhibits covering thousands of years. And it is free to get in. Thoroughly recommend a visit

Love this place, always such an honour to wander round here. I vaguely remember the old museum. I was present at the ribbon cutting ceremony of this museum and always so happy to stroll around here. I believe that the repatriation of artefacts (e.g. Roman mosaic tiles, coin hoards etc) is a very important issue. That is one of the many reasons I love The Museum of Somerset. Thanks for everything!
