Great place. Nice to see the mill working (the mill only works a few times a year as it is an original piece) the large gardens over a nice relaxed environment to calm down in our just downs a nice day out in. The one complaint that I have is that the cafe is rather pricey. On yes its local handmade items but it can get quite expensive. It is not free and you will have to pay, I do not know the prices unfortunately. The best time to visit would be in summer as the gardens have a tenancy to become muddy and slippy in the wet months. Enjoy your visit.

Love this garden, its so relaxing. The cafe can get really busy, recommend taking a coffee on a nice walk.

Tips go when it rains with wells and an umbrella. It's magical and less people around :)

Lovely gardens with woodland walks. Brilliant second hand bookshop and nice cafe offering a good range of quality food. Parking is easy except at the height of the school holidays

It's always lovely here. Still a bit bare now, at the end of winter, but plenty of early spring flowers, and the same great views.

Well worth a visit at any time of year to see the changing seasons. Wonderful reclaimed gardens, evolving all the time and the superb formal garden has a wonderful outlook. Great for a relaxed walk although some uphill terrain if wanted. Good restaurant/cafe for Ekenses or lunc- always good, tasty foods tho not el cheapo its affordable. Nice little shop with good choice .

The gardens are lovely, the house not so much. The landscape garden and it's walk is wonderful as it was designed to be also viewed as separate landscapes from viewing points! The formal garden is also pretty and has a nice orangery building.

I loved Hestercombe. I was on a coach holiday and it was lovely and peaceful just wandering about.Amazing scones in the tea room. One lady brought hers back to coach and asked why they had grass in them. It was finely chopped chive or a herb.
