Beautiful and extensive grounds. Worthwhile exploring. Cafe expensive.

Visited gardens and walks on a grey day but found it to be uplifting. Gardeners were helpful and friendly whilst very busy. A fair amount of the gardens are accessible to wheelchair users but other areas need more nimble access abilities.
Clearly marked out routes for Covid safety using a one way arrangement.
Suggest booking for popular restaurant where the food is good and well presented. Eating outside under cover is possible and the tables are well spaced.
Car park is undersized for the popularity of the site.

Amazing natural beauty. Maybe a couple miles of greenery and ponds. Relaxing walk. Beautiful gardens. The restaurant was unexpectedly good. I would still go there even if it was not part of this attraction. Unfortunately, not all the sights were opened but was still worth it.

Świetne miejsce do spędzenia z rodziną , czas potrzebny na przejście najdłuższej trasy to jakieś 2 godziny plus wspaniały ogród i dom który też trzeba zobaczyć. Bilet należy kupić online min 3 godziny przed wizytą . ps bardzo mile panie przy kasie i zabierzcie ze sobą stary chleb łabędzie i ryby będą wdzięczne

Maybe a little overpriced for what was essentially just a beautiful setting for a morning walk. Loved all the Erigeron along the steps tho & bought some of it in the plant shop.

Had a lovely day out here last week. We picked the right day. It was lovely to walk around the gardens with such a lot to see. The weather was quite nice and warm. Managed to eat outside from the small cafe take away but not much choice. Will definitely go back again to see the different garden seasons.

Visited on a sunny but windy day. Most of the garden walk is sheltered. We took the longest route around and that included the bluebell walk loop on the way back. Most of the garden is one way except the formal gardens near the house. The one way wasn't always clearly signposted and we often met people going the wrong way even when it was clear. I found some woodland areas a little steep (arthritic knees) but mostly it was ok if you took it easy. I was disappointed that the gift shop was up steep steps. The formal gardens look like they need to recover post covid lockdowns but had plenty of seating to enjoy the view across the valley. The best view on the whole visit was out at the Gothic chalet. I thought the plant centre was expensive and had a limited range The food in the café looked amazing and I wished I hadn't brought my own lunch to eat. They ask you only eat in the cafe garden near the house and not elsewhere on the estate. Plenty of seating. We were there 3 hours total but we also took several breaks to enjoy the vistas and peace and quiet on the way round.
