The gardens are well worth a visit, lovely walks, had a good lunch in the restaurant, the staff were great, friendly and helpful. Good selection of plants to buy, and some very interesting history in one of the sheds. The house is not the most spectacular you will ever see, didn't make it inside, but we had a very enjoyable look around.

Loverly formal gardens and walks which we enjoyed with our dog Shadow. Would be 5 stars but the house itself is a little disappointing as not much open to the public. Well worth the visit for the gardens though.

My favourite garden, well kept and on going restoration of Bamflyte 16th century mini Stourhead. Just a wonderful atmosphere. Formal gardens just garden magic.

Can't rate Hestercombe highly enough. This was my first visit and I just couldn't stop saying wow! Absolutely stunning gardens. And thank you for being so dog-friendly! It's so refreshing to find a place that'll allow dogs into a formal garden (and provide treats on the way in and out!) Will definitely return!<br>Word of warning for those on a budget - the on site restaurant and takeaway facilities are very expensive! Examples, £7.50 for soup and bread, £5.95 children's lunch box, £3.00 for cold drinks. Very good quality food but not affordable for everyone so thought a warning here might be appreciated by some.

This is my second time of visiting and it’s beautiful. The grounds are stunning and we picked a lovely sunny day to go. The staff are all friendly and they gave us some dog biscuits for our lab . The stables cafe is a must, great food and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I even got a takeaway box as I couldn’t eat all my cream tea 😂. The secondhand bookshop is well stocked . Worth a visit.

Lovely views and Scones. Whilst gardens were good none of the plants were any different from those in my gardens over the years

Beautiful gardens both landscape and formal. Perfect for a sunny day stroll. Dogs are welcome everywhere except the top floor of the house, given over to various items from the history of the property.

Relaxing , rural but sculptured in parts .facilities brilliant, lovely selection of plants to purchase a most enjoyable day, shame its so costly , you need to be there for the day to feel you've had value for money. I think for locals that go more than an annual visit a slight reduction could be the way to go.
