Went to this cinema recently as a first timer with my family. There is a lot of postives to talk about, such as:
- online booking experience was positive
- good price for tickets
- clean cinema
- comfortable seats (we were in screen 1)
However there were x2 key reasons I could not give it 5 stars-
1- The food options for kids was poor. They seemed to have ran out of things we wanted i.e fruit shoot, salted popcorn. Which led to charging us higher prices for adult items.
2- NO PARKING- had to drive around looking for parking as there was no designated car park for the cinema.

We love this place, they always go above and beyond from props to full dressed characters they make it magical for the kids.

Very nice and comfy + clean but very expensive and they do not allow outside food or drinks unless you hide them in your bag 😂😂

Lovely staff, nicely kept and very fine Art Deco cinema. Saw The Odyssey on its second day of release: great to see it on a decent-sized screen. Sat in comfy chairs with footrests! It was well-attended, which added to the pleasure of sharing the experience with a crowd of film enthusiasts.

I never go to another cinema now!! Friendly staff, super comfy seats, lots of showings, themed nights, easy booking, range of drinks and snacks, reasonable ticket prices... can't fault it :)

Not great to park close by cinema, popcorn was worst i have had in my life, cold drinks with no ice in hot weather?! The place was very clean, friendly staff, comfortable clean chairs.

After a long break from the cinema due to COVID and having had kids, finally took the kids to see a film here and was really impressed. Friendly staff, nice little screens with comfortable sofas, and fair prices. Doubt I will bother going anywhere else any more for cinema trips and the kids love coming here. We are here to watch the new Minions movie and there's even a guy in a Minions suit messing around and entertaining the kids. Great venue that Sutton Coldfield is lucky to have.

Watched Croatia and Ghana World cup games in screen 1. Great atmosphere, compare was Des, who did a great job entertaining the kids with football themed entertainment.
The price for entry was amazing, food and drinks included.
Thoroughly recommend watching a future game should England qualify further. C’mon England.

I wish the best for this Cinema being a landmark in Sutton Coldfield and appreciate its an historic building but if you are going to charge premium prices you need to put the air conditioning on unbearable experience this evening in Cinema 2

I adore this cinema. We have been as a family numerous times and always found the service second to none - today however exceeded my expectations. After a complete mess up I bought tickets for the day before and only realised when the scanner wouldn’t work. The staff were wonderful and before my littlest one had time to cry about missing out on the new Toy Story film, Roy (I think was his name - the manager on duty) sorted us tickets for another showing on the same day. You completely saved my bacon today after the epic mom fail. Thank you so much!!

Enjoyed Toy Story 5 with family this evening. Brilliant to see a full house and experience a real community atmosphere. Our Granchildren loved having photos with Woody, Buzz and Jess. Well done to the team at the Royal for making it so special!

A great local independent cinema. I'm glad they maintained the art deco feel of the place. The seats are just amazing, nice and comfy with a foot stool. They put up a great Toy story 5 opening weekend with lots of dressed up characters.
