The first time I had been in The Fox and I was really impressed. I had a lovely flat iron steak which was cooked beautifully. The staff were lovely and so was the wine!

Love The Bulmer Fox’s idea of pie and a pint for a few quid. Pie pastry is absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. Vegetables are cooked perfectly too as well as the mash. The pies themselves are absolutely delicious & stuffed full of meat. I’d love to eat here every night. The bitter they have to go with the Pie is also just what I like.

From start to finish the experience was amazing.
I came with my mum and dad and they both said “this is the best meal we’ve had for ages”.
For me also, I haven’t had a steak cooked with such perfection like that for years, the last time I had a steak like that was in the centre of London about 12 years ago.
Considering there was only one chef, well, hats off to him!

We drove past this and thought we’d pop in for dinner. It was absolutely delicious food and decent portions! Great selection of interesting fish and veggie options too. Very quiet but it was a random Wednesday evening, so not surprising. Helpful staff and a lovely setup. We really enjoyed it and will be back again soon!

We visited this pub for the first time with friends to celebrate a birthday. Wow! We had an amazing dining experience from start to finish. The hospitality was so welcoming. The food - amazing- they certainly know how to cook a steak - compliments to the chef. Everything was perfect and they presented the cake on time at the end of our meal. Thank you for an amazing evening. We will certainly be back in the near future

Went for Sunday lunch with high expectations, sadly the food did not live up to this. Roast potatoes not crispy, some vegetables were overcooked some undercooked, meat was average, we tried Chicken, Beef & Pork all bland and lacked flavour, no seasoning on anything. Overall it tasted like mass produced bland food. One positive was that the staff were lovely and attentive.

Passed this lovely pub whilst holidaying in the area and after reading the reviews decided to give it a try. Lovely reception that made us feel very welcome. After deciding to go with the steak option which seemed to be the popular choice we had a light drink with the bread starter to avoid spoiling our appetites.
When the food arrived we were presented with frozen chips as part of our meal. The steak and the other items were cooked to perfection and very tasty but why ruin it with a pile of frozen chips which were pale and totally tasteless.
No explanation or apology, surely a chef would not serve rubbish to accompany a well prepared meal?

Had dinner on Friday night. The ribeye steak was delicious and the brewshed beer was lovely. Will come back again.

We had a wonderful experience on our recent visit. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But just as importantly, the service truly stood out. Our waitress, Fern, was incredibly attentive and warm throughout the evening. She anticipated our needs without ever being intrusive and made us feel genuinely cared for. Her thoughtful service elevated the whole experience and made our visit even more enjoyable.

Went to The Fox on 3 occasions while holidaying in the area. Lovely place to eat, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, we had Sunday Roast with all the trimmings and even though the restaurant was busy we were served promptly. Would recommend the mackeral pate as a starter, the pickled veg with it was so tasty, the only hiccup was the mussell's they were quite gritty. All our other meals were delicious and there was a good choice on the menu, not just the usual pub food. If your in the area give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Wonderful evening. My husband and I went on impulse. Atmosphere very calm but organised. Food excellent. Had steak perfectly cooked melted in your mouth. Give it a try you won’t regret it , promise
