Had a pleasant Sunday lunch at the Crown with a few caveats.
- The beef is rare and it tells you so and I am good with that. However if you cut it as thick as they do, then it either needs to be top quality or they provide a sharper knife, it was neither. Next time I will have the pork! - Unless they slice it thinly!
- Covid has probably put pay to any maintenance on and in the building so it does look a little more tired than the website images would suggest. Did not really detract from the experience.
- Staff were top drawer. Friendly and happy and super attentive. First class.
- Cheap as chips. Worth the drive out from Cambridge.

Really great food and service. Massive portions. Starters could be a main. Had rarebit starter and fish chowder main... delicious. Despite all the shenanigans with staff shortages everywhere in the industry, The Crown didn't let us (a group of 12) down. We did book and sensibly were asked to pre-order as we were such a large group.

We love the Crown. It's in a beautiful village, it does great food and I love the beer. Open every day from midday. Big (like majorly big) garden. And no Covid fuss. You just don't notice anything has been a problem. Took my mother in law here for lunch on her eightieth. Must have been nearly twenty years ago. Suffolk is all about stability and continuity. Go crown!

Great pub. Nice staff. Super food from a varied menu that changes fortnightly. It's not an extensive menu but it is mouthwatering. Good beer too - what's not to like?

I cannot speak highly enough of the food, service and general ambience of the pub. This is a traditional pub with a modern twist. The garden is huge, adjacent to a stream and has a small play park for children. The exceptional feature of the pub is the quality of the food; we had a truly fantastic meal - it was incredibly presented, beautiful to eat and very reasonably priced (£21 for two courses, £26 for three). This is one of the best meals I have ever eaten!

We have been a couple of times in the last few weeks for a roast. 3 courses for £25 is such good value for great food. The menu changes fortnightly but there are always plenty of options. Food is always delicious and the roast beef is really worth going out for. Portions are very generous with extra veg and gravy. Service is good, we cannot fault anything and is currently our favourite place to go for a lovely meal every time.

This gastro pub is one of the few that's open every day.
So if you're on holiday in Suffolk, it's one of the few places you can eat on Monday and Tuesday.
Well, you really should.
We had lunch and dinner here by accident. Lunch was an amazing caprese sandwich. The bread was phenomenal.
Dinner was chicken with new potatoes. Sounds boring but was totally amazing.
But forget all that.
The apple creme brulee was the king of the show.
That was a real treat. It was a perfect creme brulee.
Highly recommended. The staff, the beautiful building, the amazing food. All these are reasons to come here.
I would recommend it.

We had a great meal here. My steak was cooked to perfection. And OMG the onion rings were amazing. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Good local village pub with great choice on the menu and full of charm.

Lovely dining area, great food, great prices.

There are not too many menu choices, so the meals they serve use fresh ingredients very well cooked.

The food and service was very good, I had a very nice cheese brûlée and my husband had homemade duck spring rolls with a rhubarb sauce.
