Four of us enjoyed a Sunday roast lunch here. Portions were substantial: both pork and beef were succulent, the veggie option tasty (mushrooms with loads of stilton) but perhaps a bit on the heavy side. Vegetables that came with the roast were particularly good: four varieties, not overcooked - full marks to the chef for those. Yorkshire puddings were impressively light. Of the desserts the rhubarb creme brulée was especially tasty. The pub was very busy and service was several times a little forgetful, but the predominantly young team were cheery, good-natured and willing. As pub Sunday roast lunches go, this was well above average, and is thoroughly recommended.

Every dish was excellent and nothing standard about the dishes on offer. The service was attentive and everyone was very friendly. We really like the sister pub the Cadogan Arms as well

my wife and i spent a most enjoyable evening at this super pub in a lovely village, the food was delicious and frankly quite large portions (for us) although we just about managed to clear our plates. The drink and in particular for me the ales were brilliant. Service superb especially from Oscar the young manager who welcomed us and made us feel looked after from the very start.
great place and we will return.

Had a two course lunch on Sunday 26.6.22 at The Crown which took 2.5 hrs. The service was horrendous and if it wasn't for the superb food, compliments to the chef, we wouldn't be returning again

I went with my family on Friday the 17th June for Pizza. I ordered a pint and 1/2 of the Pale Ale (amongst other drinks) and when I tried it it was warm. I went back and there was no acknowledgment that there might be something wrong. Basically thats the way it is. Clearly the refrigeration in the room where the beer was kept was not coping with the heat. I then ordered three Pizzas and asked that they be well done to which I was replied ' they come the way they come' in a shirty manner.
I won't be going back in a hurry.

A lovely pub and sweet helpful staff but very disappointing food. Four of us went for lunch and none of us felt that the food was satisfactory. Chicken schnitzel was extremely overcooked and consequently dry and tough. Eton Mess had half a strawberry in it! and lots of blackberry conserve.
Prices were on the high side but the standard of cooking did not match them.

Amazing country pub with a fantastic garden and good food. They used to make the best pizzas ever but they've started to use pre-made bases which ruined them sadly.

Popped to The Crown as we heard their new outside pizza oven is now open. Lovely welcome at the garden bar, ordered drinks and pizza. The pizza was amazing, really lovely and expertly cooked by Grace. A great place for families with children, lots of space for little ones to run around and have fun on the play equipment in a safe environment. Also a lovely stop off for dog walkers. We’ll worth a visit!

A really lovely country pub in high Suffolk with a warm friendly welcome, really good local ale (Brewshed pale ale from Bury St Edmunds), a great beer garden with children’s play area and plenty more to commend it. They’ve got a super pizza oven in the large garden and we found that the pizzas were excellent.

Sorry that the review is contrary to the norm, but the title sums up our experience. The reception at the bar was warm and friendly, the food was excellent, the service was dire. Did they tuck us round the corner and forgot about us?

A very well kept pub with extensive grounds and plenty of parking. The menu was interesting and different from the normal Suffolk "pub grub" that many of the big chain pubs offer in the area.
