Lovely pub, great food, and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed by the amount of dog mess in the beer garden. We had young children with us, and it had been trampled around the seating area, making it unpleasant and unhygienic.

This isn't the dogs' fault—it's the responsibility of their owners to clean up after them. If some owners can't do that, then perhaps the pub should consider either restricting dogs or carrying out thorough checks of the beer garden before customers arrive.

We were the first table of the day, so it could have been cleared before opening. It's not fair that families with young children have to worry about them running through or stepping in someone else's dog's mess. We hope this is something that can be addressed, as it's the only thing that spoiled an otherwise enjoyable visit.

We went for lunch yesterday. The pub building is a fantastic old pub full of charm yet with modern touches. The garden looked stunning though it was too hot to sit outside. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was amazing. Super though not extensive there was plenty choice. I can recommend the deep fried Brie. The smoked ham hock almost defeated my hubby. And hubby enjoyed his pint or two of best bitter.
Eaton mess was just right for the 30° day! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be returning soon. Fantastic find.

Second visit in 8 years, the first visit was ok but not enough for me to want to go back, my neighbour raved about the Sunday lunch, so though I would try it, again ok, but have had better at 2 nearby pubs which I do frequent often.

Main was nice but not worth a 2nd visit, maybe a carvery on Sunday would be an idea. I would like to try a main midweek to see what it is like. My chocolate truffles were more like chocolate cannon balls, so dry and heavy.

We have been to The Crown for Sunday lunch before but it keeps getting better and better. This time we brought with us friends who were here for the weekend. Their review…..best roast dinner in a restaurant EVER. I concur. Well done to the whole team you smashed it.

Loved the warm welcome we received and the excellent service throughout the evening. Atmosphere was great and many chatty locals around. No hurry to get us off our table either so we could stay and chat with friends we hadn't seen for a while.

Lovely pub, lovely food, lovely outside space, lovely location, dog friendly , only draw back Gents toilets were filthy and disgusting & had not been cleaned for weeks, I have to say that they are the worst I have ever seen in a Pub, in all my days, and I am coming up to 75 reported to the Landlady, before we left, let's hope if you visit this pub in the future this has been rectified visit date 30 April 26

We visited for lunch.
Absolutely outstanding.
The staff were excellent, friendly and professional, knowledgeable.
The food was superb. I had the starter of salmon terrine which was delicious.
My partner had the risotto which was excellent too, maybe a little light on parmesan.
We shared a dessert of chocolate brownie which was melt in the mouth.
We will definitely be returning and will recommend.
I can imagine in the evening that you would need to book.

celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday on Easter Sunday and had the most amazing time, food was fabulous as always and the service 1000% , nothing was too much trouble, even though I changed the numbers twice and had unexpected guests join! Honestly could not fault anything, thank you so much, we had the best afternoon! Xx

Really great hearty food, portion size very generous and all food delicious! Drinks were also varied and delicious we sat in the large dining room with a large other party present which made it tricky hear at our table. Not the venues fault but it did have an impact on our experience.

Went for Sunday lunch today, although it was busy as Mothering Sunday the service and food was excellent, nice friendly establishment, with a good choice of lunches, puds etc. I had the lamb which was excellent, good portion, piping hot, well cooked veg, Yorkshire pud etc. Nice to have an option of complimentary sparking water instead of just still tap water. Wished I lived nearer as would love to visit but sadly on an all too short visit to the area from the not so scenic Midlands!

We went with friends on pie Wednesday. Three choices of delicious pies, with a drink. The main menu had some excellent dishes, so we were spoiled for choice. The pies went down a treat however. Service was great and staff were friendly. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and huge beer garden, so it’s great on chilly days with the fire, or warmer days outside. We will definitely be back, it’s well worth the country drive to get there.

Was booked by a friend who recommended it and I can see why. Lovely old pub with great character ,oak beams, fire place but with modern facilities too. Food was excellent with generous portions of Sunday roast. I had the roast pork with 4 slices of loin and large chunk of belly with crackling. Large homemade Yorkshire, great vegetable selection with cauliflower cheese included. Lovely gravy on the plate and more provided too. My wife and daughter had the haddock and chips and both struggled to finish with huge homemade chips (more like wedges) . My son had the ribs starter as main and they weren't the usual baby back ribs but huge bone in belly slices with tonnes of meat. (Had to get doggy bag). Desserts were generous portions too. The brownie was huge slices. Staff happily swopped the espresso ice-cream served with the brownie for vanilla. Service excellent too. Want to come back in summer to try the huge beer garden and heard good things about their outside pizza bar too. Thanks to all staff front and back house for great lunch. We will be back despite the over hour drive.

Haven't eaten here in a while but took my nephew and his wife there for a meal.
As soon as we walked through the door you're met with an open fire, great selection of drinks and extremely friendly professional staff.
The food was brilliant and reasonably priced.
We all had steak which was excellent and a mixture of starters including their scotch eggs which were fantastic.
Thank you so much for a lovely evening.
